THE BOOK OF ZECHARIAH

The Bible from genesis to reveals our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

TODAY, WE WANT TO DISCOVER FROM THE BOOK OF  ZECHARIAH     ABOUT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  HE  IS REVEALED AS THE  COMING MESSIAH.

Zech 9:9.
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: He is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.

Matt 21:5.
Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

John 12:14-15.
And Jesus, when he had found a young ass, sat thereon; as it is written, Fear not, daughter of Sion: behold, thy King cometh, sitting on an ass’s colt.

The topic will be studied under three subheadings:

Show quoted text

Isaiah  53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

  Isa 53:10.
Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.

2nd Cor 8:9.
For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Philippians  2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:  2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:  2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

As you think of all that our Lord went through. The question is, is it nothing to you? If it is not, are you redeemed or you at still languishing in your sins, day after day.

Lamentation  1:12.
Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the Lord hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

Is it nothing to you that JESUS suffered untold punishment for your sins? Is it nothing to you that he was despised and rejected and grieved by God the father, for your sake?

If it is not, now is that time for your own redemption .

2 Corinthians 6:2
” (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)”

3. THE REJECTION OF CHRIST AND PUNISHMENT FOR   MUTINY

Unfortunately, today the vast majority of the people throughout the world continually joined forces together to  rebel , trivialize and reject  this uncommon graciousness bestowed upon mankind by  both God the father and our Lord JESUS CHRIST.

Luke 19:14
” But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.”

Jeremiah  44:16 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee.  44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.

Ezekiel  33:30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.  33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.  33:32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.  33:33 And when this cometh to pass, (lo, it will come,) then shall they know that a prophet hath been among them.

John 1:11:
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

John 15:24:
If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

While our Lord will welcome and reward some of us in eternity. He will slay, reject and punish some others. Which group will you want to belong to. Be wise now.

Luke 19:27: But those mine enemies, which would not that I should reign over them, bring hither, and slay them before me

Luke  16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:  16:20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,  16:21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.  16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;  16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

For such people , our Lord still pleads with you to come. Take advantage of my substitutional sacrifice to avoid the horrors of unending eternity, that might be closer to you now, than you think.

Isaiah 33:14
” The sinners in Zion are afraid;
fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.
Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire?
who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?”

Matthew  7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
