Receiving good things from God through prayer.

Receiving good things from God through prayer

Beloved, God is delighted in blessing you with good things, both physical and spiritual things, as you pray.

Physical

Matthew  7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:  7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?  7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?  7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

Spiritual

Luke  11:9 And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  11:10 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.  11:11 If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent?  11:12 Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion?  11:13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?

However, there are things that can hinder your prayers.

Psalms  66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

Proverbs  28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall be abomination.

Zechariah  7:13 Therefore it is come to pass, that as he cried, and they would not hear; so they cried, and I would not hear, saith the LORD of hosts:

Proverbs  1:22 How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?  1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.  1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;  1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:  1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;  1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.  1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:  1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:  1:30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.  1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.  1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

This was what happened to King Saul.

1 Samuel 28:15

And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

But this deplorable can be addressed through sincere genuine repentance.

2 Chronicles  7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Begin to live with God’s wisdom and grace for your prayers to be answered at all times.

Matthew  7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Let us pray.
