Jesus from the book of Haggai

STUDYING  JESUS  FROM THE BIBLE.  HAGGA – THE  DESIRE  OF ALL NATIONS.

The Bible from Genesis to Revelation reveals Jesus Christ our Lord to us

John 5:39  Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

Today, we want to study what the book of   Haggai   reveals about our Lord Jesus Christ.

He is revealed as the Desire of all Nations

Haggai 2:7.. Luke 2:10-11.

Haggai  2:7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

Luke  2:10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.  2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Certainly and assuredly  it is in CHRIST alone can all mankind meet the requisites God demanded from all fallen race of Adam for reconciliation and restoration.

It is only through CHRIST; we can reach God and have access to His earthly and heavenly blessings.

 Colossians 2:9-10, Romans 8:32, John 14:6.

Colossians  2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.  2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

Romans  8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

John  14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

1, THE REDEEMED’S CRAVING FOR THE   REIGNING JESUS.

2. THE  REWARD  AND COMMENDATION  FOR RECEIVING JESUS.

3.  THE REGRET AND CONDEMNATION FOR REJECTING JESUS.

1, THE REDEEMED’S CRAVING FOR THE   REIGNING JESUS.

Jesus Christ Is the central theme and the aspirations of al the people

 He redeemed with His blood.

On to Him alone is their  gathering together and worshipping continually focus on.

He is the  one that will reign forever and ever over all the nations of the earth.

Genesis 49:10, Numbers 24:17, Isaiah 9:6, Jeremiah 23:5

Genesis  49:10 The sceptre shall not depart from Judah, nor a lawgiver from between his feet, until Shiloh come; and unto him shall the gathering of the people be.

Numbers  24:17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.

Isaiah  9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Jeremiah  23:5 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth.

As the people that He had redeemed with His blood all our desires and aspirations should center on Him.

Psalms 27:4  42:1-2,Luke 10:41-42 Philippians 3:10, Song of Songs 3:1

Psalms  27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

Psalms  42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.  42:2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

Luke  10:41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things:  10:42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.

Philippians  3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;

Song of Solomon  3:1 By night on my bed I sought him whom my soul loveth: I sought him, but I found him not.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the singular daily  desire and aspirations of His people.

He reigns in our hearts now as our only Lord.

Because He reigns in our heart now, we also will reign with Him in eternity.

Revelation  5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;  5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

2. THE  REWARD  AND COMMENDATION  FOR RECEIVING JESUS.

The prophet Haggai further reinforced several prophecies given about the person of our Lord JESUS CHRIST

Also in addition  the earthly and eternal blessings His followers will enjoy.

Haggai 2:7. Mark 16:17-18,Luke 10:19,John 1:12,3 John 1:2,,1 John 4:4,Revelation 1:5-6

Haggai  2:7 And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

Mark  16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke  10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

John  1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

1 John  4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

3 John  1:2 Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

Revelation  1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,  1:6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

These and many more are the rewards and commendation for receiving Jesus.

3.  THE REGRET AND CONDEMNATION FOR REJECTING JESUS.

Unfortunately today, multitude throughout the world are  warring against Him.

Many are fighting against Him through their lips and lifestyle In spite of the seemingly innumerable present and future benefits derivable from association with Him .

JESUS our Lord;  is abysmally relegated by the vast majority of people throughout the world today.

Just like it was done in the days of Haggai, so it is being done today.

 Haggai 1:4, Provs 1:23-32, 1 Saml 15:22-23

Haggai  1:4 Is it time for you, O ye, to dwell in your cieled houses, and this house lie waste?

Proverbs  1:23 Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.  1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;  1:25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:  1:26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;  1:27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.  1:28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:  1:29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:  1:30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.  1:31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.  1:32 For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

1 Samuel  15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.  15:23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

Many in our world today are indifferent to the things of God, while they are consumed in pursing glamour, honor, wealth and fleshly passions.

However, this inordinate pursuit is hasting their ruin instead of achieving the desired joy.

 Matt 16:26, 7:21-23

Matthew  16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Matthew  7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

As we conclude this morning, what is God’s counsel for you?

JESUS is the desire of all nations.

In Him and through Him alone, you can accomplish earthly gains without jeopardizing your eternal treasures.

So heed His plea now. Come, believe Him, receive Him and obtain power for son ship. John 1:12.

John  1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

Seek God’s kingdom first and attain other things without sorrow.

Matthew  6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Let us pray.
