JESUS FROM THE  THE BOOK OF HABAKKUK

The Bible from genesis to revelation  is a revelation about tour Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

John 5:39

TODAY, WE WANT TO STUDY WHAT THE BOOK OF   HABAKKUK  

REVEALS. ABOUT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  

HE  IS REVEALED AS THE LORD IN THE MIDST OF HIS CHUCH.

         The bible from the book of Habakkuk reveals our Lord JESUS CHRIST as The Lord in the midst of His Church.

Hab 2:20
But the Lord is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. 

Matt 18:20.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. 

Rev 2:1. 
Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus write; These things saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks;   

We will consider the topic under three subheadings:

1. Reasons for Christ’s desire to being in His church.

2. Retaining Christ’s desire to being in His church.

3. Resisting Christ’s desire to being in His church 

1. Reasons for Christ’s desire to being in His church.

Our Lord JESUS CHRIST since His ascension to Heaven has never been slacken in always being in the midst of His Church.

          As a faithful sheep to CHRIST, the joy  of The Lord , should continually spring out from us, because of the continual presence of our living Lord in the midst of His people.

                 The church of our Lord JESUS CHRIST is not the building, but the people, He redeemed with His blood. 

Acts 20:28.   
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Our Lord had promised never to forsake us, until the end of the world. 

The lord has burning desire to always be in His church and fellowship with His sheep.

Hab 2:20

Matthew 28:20
” Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

JESUS prayed that His church will be with Him here ad for all eternity.

John 17:24
” Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.”

JESUS HAS PRAYED AND HE IS STILL PRAYING TO BE WITH YOU HERE ON EARTH AND THEN FOR YOU TO BE WITH HIM FOR ALL ETERNITY.

2. Retaining Christ’s desire to being in His church.

Our Lord is very loving. But, He only stays in the church, where He is sought for.

Hebrews 9:28
” So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.”

When you look for Him wholeheartedly, He also will look for you and remain your companion.

John 17:9
” I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine.”

JESUS SEEK FOR AND PRAY FOR THOSE THAT SEEK HIM, HIS SHEEP.

John 10:27-28
” My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

JESUS will one day and might be very soon, separate the sheep from the goat.

Matthew 25:32-33
” And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.”

SO KEEP ON RETAINING JESUS TO BE WITH YOU.

Mark 4:35-39
” And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side. And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.”

Choose to be where JESUS will be. Going only to where JESUS and you will go.

Exodus 33:13-14
” Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have found grace in thy sight, shew me now thy way, that I may know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest.”

PLEADING WITH JESUS  TO BEING WITH YOU ALWAYS.

John 2:1-5
” ​ And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there: And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage. And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.”

MAKING DELIBERATE EFFORT TO Inviting THE LORD INTO ALL THAT YOU ARE DOING.

Luke 24:

13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

LET JESUS BE THE CENTRALITY OF YOUR TEACHINGS AND ALL THAT YOU DO WITHIN AND OUTSIDE THE CHURCH.

Acts 5:42
” And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”

28 And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29 But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
PRAYING TO JESUS TO STAY WITH YOU ALWAYS.

Matthew 28:20
” Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

STAYING WITH A CHUCH THAT TEACHES THE WHOLE BIBLE AND A MINISTER THT TEACHES YOUR THE WHOLE COUNSEL OF GOD.

Acts 20:26-27
” Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.”

3. Resisting Christ’s desire to being in His church 

Revelation 3:
14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;
15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.
21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
22 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

WHEN YOU HAVE REPLACED JESUS WITH IDOL OF WEALTH AND WORLDLY THINGS.

Exodus 33:1-3
“​ And the Lord said unto Moses, Depart, and go up hence, thou and the people which thou hast brought up out of the land of Egypt, unto the land which I sware unto Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, saying, Unto thy seed will I give it: And I will send an angel before thee; and I will drive out the Canaanite, the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite: Unto a land flowing with milk and honey: for I will not go up in the midst of thee; for thou art a stiffnecked people: lest I consume thee in the way.”

WHEN YOU ARE STUBBORN AND YOU DO NOT NEED HIS LEADING OVER YOUR LIFE AGAIN.

Judges 16:19-20
” And she made him sleep upon her knees; and she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head; and she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him. And she said, The Philistines be upon thee, Samson. And he awoke out of his sleep, and said, I will go out as at other times before, and shake myself. And he wist not that the Lord was departed from him.”

WHEN YOU LOVE SIN AND DESPISE RIGHTEOUSNESS.

1 Samuel 15:22-23
” And Samuel said,
Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
as in obeying the voice of the Lord?
Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice,
and to hearken than the fat of rams.
For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft,
and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.
Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord,
he hath also rejected thee from being king.”

1 Samuel 15:26
” And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.”

WHEN YOU REJECTED GOD’S WORD.

1 Timothy 3:15
” But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

YOU SEND JESUS AWAY FROM YOU, WHEN YOU MANIFEST BAD ATTITUDE IN THE CHURCH. YOU SLEEP, YOU WALK UP AND DOWN, YOU DONT OPEN YOUR BIBLE AND YOU DONT EVEN LISTEN TO GOD’S WORD BUT DISTRACTING THE CHURCH.

Remember, the Lord Jesus Christ is in the midst of His church always .

This morning the Lord  has taught us  about His unchanging willingness to being  always in the midst of His people, 

He ha earnest desire to always being with us, so welcome him and stop driving Him away.
