Jesus from the book of Nahum.

Jesus from Nahum

THE BOOK OF NAHUM.

The Bible from Genesis to Revelation reveals the person of our Lord Jesus Christ.

John 5:39
Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

THIS MORNING, WE  ARE DISCOVERING CHRIST FROM THE BOOK OF   NAHUM.  HE  IS REVEALED AS THE  STRONG TOWER IN ALL OUR TROUBLES

Nahum 1:7
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble;
and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Heb 6:18-20.
That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

The book of Nahum reveals our Lord JESUS CHRIST as our STRONG TOWER IN ALL OUR TROUBLES.

Nahum 1:7.
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

Mark 4:38-39.
And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

We study the book under three subtitles.

1. CHRIST THE STRONG TOWER.

Nahum 1:7.
The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.

The  Lord JESUS CHRIST is our STRONG TOWER IN ALL OUR TROUBLES.

WHY DO YOU NEED THIS STRONG TOWER?

This world today is full of troubles and will remain unchanged, until the end of time.

There is no singular human being in whatever capacity, that is exempted from trouble.

 Job 5:6-7.
Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground;  Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

Christians and non Christians all have their own share of troubles

.However , believers troubles and challenges are short lived, while unbelievers have troubles unabated all through their lives.

  1st Pet 5:8-10.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

The Bible assures us that JESUS our Lord is sure anchor and strong tower, that can not fail.

Proverbs 18:10
The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

Psalms 18:2:
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

Psalms 144:2:
My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and he in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.

2 Samuel 22:3:
The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

Psalms 61:3:
For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Our Lord without any iota of doubt is  certainly the strong tower to His people.
