JESUS FROM THE BOOK OF HOSEA. THE GREAT PROPHET.

STUDYING  JESUS FROM THE BIBLE.  HOSEA  – THE  GREAT PROPHET .  MAY  19TH    2025

The bible from Genesis to revelation contains sixty six books.

The whole books of the Bible are revelations about Jesus.

Our Lord commanded us to search the scriptures and we will find it so.   Jhn 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

This morning we will be  studying the book of Hosea  to discover revelation about our Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus is revealed as the great prophet. Hosea 12:13, Lk 7:12- 16.

Hosea  12:13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.

Luke  7:12 Now when he came nigh to the gate of the city, behold, there was a dead man carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow: and much people of the city was with her.  7:13 And when the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her, and said unto her, Weep not.  7:14 And he came and touched the bier: and they that bare him stood still. And he said, Young man, I say unto thee, Arise.  7:15 And he that was dead sat up, and began to speak. And he delivered him to his mother.  7:16 And there came a fear on all: and they glorified God, saying, That a great prophet is risen up among us; and, That God hath visited his people.

Acts  3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:  3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.  3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.  3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

God used  Moses his servant in the old testament to deliver his people from captivity of Egypt, and preserve  them for forty years in the wilderness, on their way to the promised land.

EXD 15:13.

Exodus  15:13 Thou in thy mercy hast led forth the people which thou hast redeemed: thou hast guided them in thy strength unto thy holy habitation.

Jesus also through His sacrificial death, saved us from sin, and through His teachings and prayers preserved us to eternity.

Jesus Christ was the great prophet,  the prophet of all prophets.

1.CHRIST PROPHETIC MINISTRY AS DELIVERER AND PRESERVER.

The Bible reveals Jesus as the sent prophet, MAT 21:10-11, LK 24:15-19, JHN 6:12-14, 9:16-17, ACTS 3: 20-23.

Matthew  21:10 And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?  21:11 And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.

Luke  24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.  24:16 But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.  24:17 And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?  24:18 And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?  24:19 And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:

John  6:12 When they were filled, he said unto his disciples, Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost.  6:13 Therefore they gathered them together, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves, which remained over and above unto them that had eaten.  6:14 Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.

John  9:16 Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.  9:17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.

The word of God reveals Jesus to us in His greatest prophetic office .

He was delivering His people through His sacrificial death and preserving them through His teachings and intercessory ministry.

ISA 53:5-8, HEB 2:14-15, LK 1:74-75, 2 COR 1:10.ROM 8: 34, HEB 7:25, ISA 53: 12, LK 22:31-32,JHN10: 27-28, 6: 66-69,

His death

Isaiah  53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.

Hebrews  2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Luke  1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,  1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

2 Corinthians  1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

His Intercession

Romans  8:34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

Hebrews  7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Isaiah  53:12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Luke  22:31 And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat:  22:32 But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

John  10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

John  6:66 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.  6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?  6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.  6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

Jesus can only preserve those who listen to Him.

JHN6: 70-71, HOS 11:7, 8-9, 8: 12, When Jesus admonish you through His word and you are determined not to obey him he will not be able to preserve you from reaching kife eternal..

John  6:70 Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?  6:71 He spake of Judas Iscariot the son of Simon: for he it was that should betray him, being one of the twelve.

Hosea  11:7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.  11:8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.  11:9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.

2 CHRISTIANS PROFESSION IN MINISTERING AS DELIVERER AND PRESERVER.

The one major reason why the Lord leaves us here after our conversion , is for us to be used to minister in the same ministry of delivering and preserving others. JOS 2:12-14,

Joshua  2:22 And they went, and came unto the mountain, and abode there three days, until the pursuers were returned: and the pursuers sought them throughout all the way, but found them not.  2:23 So the two men returned, and descended from the mountain, and passed over, and came to Joshua the son of Nun, and told him all things that befell them:  2:24 And they said unto Joshua, Truly the LORD hath delivered into our hands all the land; for even all the inhabitants of the country do faint because of us.

Jericho was to be destroyed, immediately Rahab had hope of deliverance, She sought same for members of her fami;ly.

What can we do for others to be delivered?

DAN 12:3, PROV 11:30, JAM 5: 19-20, JUDE 1:22-23, JHN 1 :40-42, ROM 10:1-4,

Daniel  12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Proverbs  11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

James  5:19 Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth, and one convert him;  5:20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.

Jude  1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:  1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

John  1:40 One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.  1:41 He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.  1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

Romans  10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.  10:2 For I bear them record that they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.  10:3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.  10:4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth.

What can we do to preserve them?

 GAL 4: 19, COL 4:12, ACTS 12:5-12, 20:20, 26-28,  2 PET 1:12-15, EPH 5: 11-12.3

Galatians  4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Colossians  4:12 Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, saluteth you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

Acts  12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.  12:6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.  12:7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.  12:8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.  12:9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision.  12:10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him.  12:11 And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the LORD hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.  12:12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.

Acts  20:20 And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house,  20:26 Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men.  20:27 For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.  20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.

2 Peter  1:12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.  1:13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you up by putting you in remembrance;  1:14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me.  1:15 Moreover I will endeavour that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembrance.

Ephesians  5:3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;  5:11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.  5:12 For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

3. COMPENSATION AND POSSESSIONS FOR MINISTERING AS DELIVERER AND PRESERVER.

We have great reward from God, here on earth and in eternity, if we allow Him to use us to deliver others from damnation.

 DAN 12:3,  MAL 3:16-18, 2 TI M 4: 7-8, 1 PET 5:1-4, JHN 12 26, 14:1-3, ! PET 1:4, EXD 23:25-26, JOB 36: 11, ISA 54:17.

Daniel  12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Malachi  3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.  3:17 And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.  3:18 Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

2 Timothy  4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

1 Peter  5:1 The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:  5:2 Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;  5:3 Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.  5:4 And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

John  12:26 If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

John  14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

1 Peter  1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Exodus  23:25 And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he shall bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.  23:26 There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil.

Job  36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.

Isaiah  54:17 No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Let us pray.
