Lessons from Elijah requisite for readiness for the imminent rapture

Enoch and Elijah experienced the imminent rapture in the old testament. Jesus did in the new testament.

Enoch 

Genesis  5:21 And Enoch lived sixty and five years, and begat Methuselah:  5:22 And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:  5:23 And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:  5:24 And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.

Elijah.

2 Kings  2:9 And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I be taken away from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.  2:11 And it came to pass, as they still went on, and talked, that, behold, there appeared a chariot of fire, and horses of fire, and parted them both asunder; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.  2:12 And Elisha saw it, and he cried, My father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof. And he saw him no more: and he took hold of his own clothes, and rent them in two pieces.

Jesus.

Acts  1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.  1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;  1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

But then what were the virtues in  Elijah’s life, that qualified him for this unique privilege?  So that you can replicate them and also experience same thing when the rapture takes place.

1.  Elijah knew God. 

He was known by God and walked with God.

He spoke on behalf of God 

Remember two can not walk together except they be agreed.

Amos  3:3 Can two walk together, except they be agreed?

You can not walk and speak for God except you are holy like Him.

1 Peter  1:15 But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;  1:16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

These you see in Elijah’s life.a

1 Kings  17:1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. 

You too must know God by taking advantage of the vicarious sacrifice of Christ and be born again. To know God. 

John  3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

2 Corinthians  5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

And be sanctified to walk with God and speak on His behalf like Elijah.

Luke  1:74 That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,  1:75 In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

Ephesians  5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;  5:26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,  5:27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Secondly.

He was implicitly obedient to God’s eternal, unfailing, immutable words in all things and at all times.

1 Kings  17:5 So he went and did according unto the word of the LORD: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.  17:6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.  17:7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.  17:8 And the word of the LORD came unto him, saying,  17:9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.  17:10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

You too must be obedient and live by the entirety of His words till He comes.

.Revelation  3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.  3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

3. He laboured to turn others to righteousnes.

Daniel  12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

1 Kings  18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.  18:30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the LORD that was broken down.  18:31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the LORD came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:  18:36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.  18:37 Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LORD God, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

You too be occupied for Christ till He comes getting others ready for the imminent rapture too.

Luke  19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

So endeavor to be biblically saved and  sanctified through the vicarious sacrifice of Christ.

Live by the entirety of God’s infallible eternal immutable words till Christ comes.

Get others ready for the imminent rapture or eternity with God, as you yourself live in readiness for it 

Remember His grace is sufficient for you.

2 Corinthians  9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
