STUDYING JESUS FROM THE BIBLE . JEREMIAH AND LAMENTATIION     – THE  WEEPING  PROPHET    Tue 29TH    APRIL  2025

The Lord Jesus Christ commanded his faithful followers of all generations to search the scriptures.

Everything from Genesis to Revelation, the entire sixty-six books reveals Him alone.  Jhn 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.

TODAY, WE Will discover from  THE BOOKS OF JEREMIAH AND LAMENTATION   ABOUT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.

He  IS REVEALED AS THE WEEPING PROPHET.

Jeremiah  9:1 Oh that my head were waters, and mine eyes a fountain of tears, that I might weep day and night for the slain of the daughter of my people!

Jeremiah  13:17 But if ye will not hear it, my soul shall weep in secret places for your pride; and mine eye shall weep sore, and run down with tears, because the LORD’s flock is carried away captive.

Jeremiah  14:17 Therefore thou shalt say this word unto them; Let mine eyes run down with tears night and day, and let them not cease: for the virgin daughter of my people is broken with a great breach, with a very grievous blow.

Lamentations  2:18 Their heart cried unto the LORD, O wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night: give thyself no rest; let not the apple of thine eye cease.  2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

Lamentations  3:51 Mine eye affecteth mine heart because of all the daughters of my city.

Luke  19:41 And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it,  19:42 Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.  19:43 For the days shall come upon thee, that thine enemies shall cast a trench about thee, and compass thee round, and keep thee in on every side,  19:44 And shall lay thee even with the ground, and thy children within thee; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because thou knewest not the time of thy visitation.

JER 9:1, 13:17, 14: 17, LAM 2:18-19, 3:51, LK 19.41-44.

WHY DID JESUS WEPT?

BECAUSE HE SAW THE CHASTISEMENT THAT WILL COME UPON JERUSALEM .

HE ASO, SAW  THE EVENTUAL DAMNATION OF THE UNREPENTANT   Jews

Matthew  23:34 Wherefore, behold, I send unto you prophets, and wise men, and scribes: and some of them ye shall kill and crucify; and some of them shall ye scourge in your synagogues, and persecute them from city to city:  23:35 That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar.  23:36 Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.  23:37 O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!  23:38 Behold, your house is left unto you desolate.  23:39 For I say unto you, Ye shall not see me henceforth, till ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

MAT 23:34-39.

1. THE SAVIOUR WEPT FOR OUR REDEMPTION AND CONCERNS.

2. THE SAINTS WEEPING FOR THEIR REGENERATION AND CHALLENGES.

3. THE SINNERS WEEPING FOR THEIR REJECTION AND CHASTISEMENT.

1. THE SAVIOUR WEPT FOR OUR REDEMPTION AND CONCERNS.

THE LORD JESUS CHRIST DID NOT ONLY DIED FOR OUR SINS, HE WEPT FOR THEM.

IN HIS INTERCESSION FOR OUR REDEMPTION, OUR SAVIOR WAS GRIEVED AND HE WEPT.

Hosea  11:8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.

Jeremiah  3:20 Surely as a wife treacherously departeth from her husband, so have ye dealt treacherously with me, O house of Israel, saith the LORD.  3:21 A voice was heard upon the high places, weeping and supplications of the children of Israel: for they have perverted their way, and they have forgotten the LORD their God.  3:22 Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God.

LK 19:41-44, HOS 11;8, JER 3: 20-23

LIKE JESUS, MANY IN THE BIBLE WEPT FOR THE REDEMPTION, RESTORATION AND REGENERATION OF OTHERS FOR THEIR SOULS NOT TO BE LOST.

WHAT ARE YOU DOING ABOUT THE UNDYING SOUL OF YOUR UNSAVED PARENTS, CHILDREN, WIFE AND HUSBAND?

WEEP AND PRAY FOR THEM LIKE JESUS AND JEREMIAH.

THEY WILL BE SAVED IN JESUS NAME.

1 Samuel  15:10 Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,  15:11 It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.

Galatians  4:19 My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,

Romans  9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience also bearing me witness in the Holy Ghost,  9:2 That I have great heaviness and continual sorrow in my heart.  9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Christ for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh:  9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises;  9:5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Christ came, who is over all, God blessed for ever. Amen.

Psalms  119:136 Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.  119:158 I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word.

Psalms  126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.

1 SAM 15; 10-11, GAL 4;19, ROM 9;1-5,  PSA 119; 136, 158, 126;6.

JESUS was ALSO CONCERNED, WHEN WE ARE TROUBLED. MANY TIMES, WE ARE WEEPING

JESUS WEEPS WITH US. OUR LORD KEEPS OUR TEARS IN HIS RECORDS.

AND HE IS AFFLICTED, WHEN WE HAVE CHALLENGES. JHN 11; 33-36, PSA 56;8, ISA 63;9

John  11:33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,  11:34 And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see.  11:35 Jesus wept.  11:36 Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him!

Psalms  56:8 Thou tellest my wanderings: put thou my tears into thy bottle: are they not in thy book?

Isaiah  63:9 In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old.

2. THE SAINTS WEEPING FOR THEIR REGENERATION AND CHALLENGES.

SAINTS OF GOD ARE NOT EXEMPTED FROM WEEPING.

WE WEEP BECAUSE OF THE REALIZATION OF OUR SINFULNESS OR BACKSLIDING OR PRESENT CHALLENGES IN OUR LIVES, SENT TO TRY OUR FAITH.

Ecclesiastes  3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:  3:2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;  3:3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;  3:4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

.ECCL 3; 1-4,

ARE YOU WEEPING BECAUSE YOU HAVE SINNED AGAINST GOD LIKE PETER? NEHEMIAH AND Ezra  ? OR THERE IS A CHALLENGE LIKE HANNAH?

BE OF GOOD COMFORT, THE LORD WILL MAKE AWAY OF ESCAPE SOON IN JESUS NAME.

Matthew  26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Luke  6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled. Blessed are ye that weep now: for ye shall laugh.

James  4:8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.  4:9 Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.  4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

Ezra  10:1 Now when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, there assembled unto him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children: for the people wept very sore.  10:2 And Shechaniah the son of Jehiel, one of the sons of Elam, answered and said unto Ezra, We have trespassed against our God, and have taken strange wives of the people of the land: yet now there is hope in Israel concerning this thing.  10:3 Now therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the wives, and such as are born of them, according to the counsel of my lord, and of those that tremble at the commandment of our God; and let it be done according to the law.

Nehemiah  1:4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,  1:5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:  1:6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father’s house have sinned.  1:7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.

Joel  2:12 Therefore also now, saith the LORD, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning:  2:13 And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the LORD your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil.  2:14 Who knoweth if he will return and repent, and leave a blessing behind him; even a meat offering and a drink offering unto the LORD your God?  2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly:

Joel  2:17 Let the priests, the ministers of the LORD, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O LORD, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?  2:18 Then will the LORD be jealous for his land, and pity his people.

John  11:31 The Jews then which were with her in the house, and comforted her, when they saw Mary, that she rose up hastily and went out, followed her, saying, She goeth unto the grave to weep there.  11:32 Then when Mary was come where Jesus was, and saw him, she fell down at his feet, saying unto him, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.  11:33 When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled,

1 Samuel  1:10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the LORD, and wept sore.  1:11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O LORD of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the LORD all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

Isaiah  38:1 In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.  38:2 Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD,  38:3 And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore.  38:4 Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying,  38:5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.  38:6 And I will deliver thee and this city out of the hand of the king of Assyria: and I will defend this city.

Hosea  12:2 The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.  12:3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:  12:4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;

MAT 26;75, LK 6;21, JAM 4;8-10, EZRA 10;1-3, NEH 1; 4-7, JOEL 2;17-18, 12-15, JHN 11; 31-33,   1 SAM 1;10-11, ISA 38;1-6, HOS 12;2-4.

CERTAINLY WEEPING IS NOT FOREVER, IT IS FOR A MOMENT.

GOD WILL WIPE OUR TEARS AWAY HERE ON EARTH BY ADDRESSING OUR CHALLENGES AND IN ETERNITY BY PROVIDING US WITH UNENDING JOY.

Psalms  30:5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

Jeremiah  31:16 Thus saith the LORD; Refrain thy voice from weeping, and thine eyes from tears: for thy work shall be rewarded, saith the LORD; and they shall come again from the land of the enemy.  31:17 And there is hope in thine end, saith the LORD, that thy children shall come again to their own border.

Revelation  21:3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.  21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.  21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.  21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.  21:7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.

PSA 30;5, JER 31;16-17, REV 21: 3-7.

3. THE SINNERS WEEPING FOR THEIR REJECTION AND CHASTISEMENT.

THE BIBLE PROVIDED US WITH SINNERS WHO WEPT BITTERLY FOR REJECTION IN ETERNITY FOR THEIR SINS AND CHASTISEMENT FOR WICKEDNESS PERPETRATED WHILE ON EARTH.

LET US LEARN FROM THE MISFORTUNES OF OTHERS TO AVOID PAINFUL CHASTISEMENT ON EARTH AND REJECTION IN ETERNITY.

Luke  6:25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep.

James  5:1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.  5:2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.  5:3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.  5:4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth.  5:5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

Matthew  8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew  22:11 And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment:  22:12 And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.  22:13 Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew  24:48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;  24:49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;  24:50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,  24:51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Matthew  25:28 Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.  25:29 For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.  25:30 And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Luke  16:22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;  16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.  16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.  16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.  16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.

Psalms  137:1 By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion.  137:2 We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof.  137:3 For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion.  137:4 How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a strange land?  137:5 If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

Malachi  2:11 Judah hath dealt treacherously, and an abomination is committed in Israel and in Jerusalem; for Judah hath profaned the holiness of the LORD which he loved, and hath married the daughter of a strange god.  2:12 The LORD will cut off the man that doeth this, the master and the scholar, out of the tabernacles of Jacob, and him that offereth an offering unto the LORD of hosts.  2:13 And this have ye done again, covering the altar of the LORD with tears, with weeping, and with crying out, insomuch that he regardeth not the offering any more, or receiveth it with good will at your hand.

Hebrews  12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.  12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.

LK 6;25, JAM 5;1-6, MAT 8; 12M 22;11-13, 24;48-51, 25;28-30, LK 16;22-26, PSA 137; 1-5, MAL 2;11-13,     N 27;38, HEB 12;16-17,

AS WE ROUND UP, WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO WITH JESUS TEARS.

Jeremiah  8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

Let us pray.
