Responsibility to keep yourself.

Acts  12:12 And when he had considered the thing, he came to the house of Mary the mother of John, whose surname was Mark; where many were gathered together praying.  12:13 And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.  12:14 And when she knew Peter’s voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.  12:15 And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.  12:16 But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.  12:17 But he, beckoning unto them with the hand to hold their peace, declared unto them how the Lord had brought him out of the prison. And he said, Go shew these things unto James, and to the brethren. And he departed, and went into another place.  12:18 Now as soon as it was day, there was no small stir among the soldiers, what was become of Peter.  12:19 And when Herod had sought for him, and found him not, he examined the

keepers, and commanded that they should be put to death. And he went down from Judaea to Caesarea, and there abode.

Peter after the Lord delivered him from being executed like James, went into hiding to preserve himself.

King Herod  still sought for him, everywhere to kill him, but could not find him.

He took responsibility to keep his life from being destroyed by the enemies of God.

Our Lord did same severally during His earthly ministry,  hiding Himself and praying to God to keep Him from death, before Calvary.

John  7:1 After these things Jesus walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him.

John  8:56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.  8:57 Then said the Jews unto him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?  8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am.  8:59 Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.

John  10:31 Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.  10:39 Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,  10:40 And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

John  11:53 Then from that day forth they took counsel together for to put him to death.  11:54 Jesus therefore walked no more openly among the Jews; but went thence unto a country near to the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim, and there continued with his disciples.

Hebrews  5:7 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Barnabas and Paul were aware they wanted to stone them and fled for their lives.

Acts  14:1 And it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together into the synagogue of the Jews, and so spake, that a great multitude both of the Jews and also of the Greeks believed.  14:2 But the unbelieving Jews stirred up the Gentiles, and made their minds evil affected against the brethren.  14:3 Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands.  14:4 But the multitude of the city was divided: and part held with the Jews, and part with the apostles.  14:5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,  14:6 They were ware of it, and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about:

The Bible says you should keep yourself from the wicked satan.

1 John  5:18 We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.

It also says when you sense  evil, hide yourself.

Proverbs  22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Proverbs  27:12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

God delivered Peter when he took responsibility to hide himself.  He will do same for you and me too,  as we do same in Jesus name.

Let us pray.
