Jesus from the Bible: Ezra.

STUDYING JESUS FROM THE BIBLE.  EZRA – THE  RESTORER OF LIFE ETERNAL, LOST AT EDEN.   Tue 18 th  FEB  2014

The bible contains sixty six books. From Genesis to Revelation all of them talks about Jesus. Our Lord commanded us to search the scriptures and we will find it so.   Jhn 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. The book of   EZRA reveals Jesus as THE RESTORER OF LIFE ETERNAL, LOST AT EDEN.  EZRA 1:1-3, 5:13-15, ISA 44:28.     

Ezra  1:1 Now in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the LORD stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom, and put it also in writing, saying,  1:2 Thus saith Cyrus king of Persia, The LORD God of heaven hath given me all the kingdoms of the earth; and he hath charged me to build him an house at Jerusalem, which is in Judah.  1:3 Who is there among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which is in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel, (he is the God,) which is in Jerusalem.

Ezra  5:13 But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon the same king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.  5:14 And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that was in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto one, whose name was Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;  5:15 And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that is in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in his place.

Isaiah  44:28 That saith of Cyrus, He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure: even saying to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be built; and to the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.

   Cyrus was the heathen king that God used to bring dignity and restoration back to Jerusalem, the exalted city of God,, ruined and destroyed  because of sin. 

In the same token , our Lord Jesus Christ was raised up by our heavenly father to bring restoration of all that Adam lost at Eden,, because of sin, back to humanity.

 The bible reveals the situation in Jerusalem before the restoration. NEH 1:2-3. 

Nehemiah  1:2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.  1:3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.

 The bible also shows the situation of humanity, before our Lord Jesus Christ, restore the lost relationship. 

Ephesians  2:11 Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;  2:12 That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:  2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.  2:14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;  2:15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;  2:16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

1. JUDGEMENT FOR RELATIONSHIP LOST.

Sin made the whole race of man to loose God and His blessings. GEN 3:1-7.  .   

Genesis  3:1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?  3:2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:  3:3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.  3:4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:  3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.  3:6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.  3:7 And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Sin makes the sinner naked before God. 

Exodus  32:21 And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?  32:22 And Aaron said, Let not the anger of my lord wax hot: thou knowest the people, that they are set on mischief.  32:23 For they said unto me, Make us gods, which shall go before us: for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.  32:24 And I said unto them, Whosoever hath any gold, let them break it off. So they gave it me: then I cast it into the fire, and there came out this calf.  32:25 And when Moses saw that the people were naked; (for Aaron had made them naked unto their shame among their enemies:)

Revelation  3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;  3:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.  3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.  3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:  3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.  3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.

Proverbs  6:26 For by means of a whorish woman a man is brought to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life.  6:27 Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?

Revelation  19:6 And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.  19:7 Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.  19:8 And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.  19:9 And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Sin makes the sinner, naked without garment of righteousness. 

But walking with God in holiness, keeps the garment of righteousness on us. 

This garment enables us to partake in the marriage supper of the lamb.

Things that were lost when Adam sinned.

LOST UNION AND FELLOWSHIP WITH THE FATHER.

Genesis  3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God amongst the trees of the garden.

THE NATURE OF GOD IN MAN WAS LOST.

Genesis  3:9 And the LORD God called unto Adam, and said unto him, Where art thou?  3:10 And he said, I heard thy voice in the garden, and I was afraid, because I was naked; and I hid myself. 

Ephesians  4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.

 GOD”S BLESSINGS IN THEIR LIVES WERE CURSED. 

Genesis  3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;  3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

LIFE WAS LOST AND DEATH CAME IN FROM EDEN

Genesis  3:19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

PALATIAL ACCOMODATION ON EARTH WAS LOST AND THE GREATEST OF ALL THE LOSSES. THE DENIAL OF ACCESS TO THE TREE OF LIFE WAS SLAMED ON THEM.

Genesis  3:22 And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:  3:23 Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken.  3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

 The bible makes us to know, that sin takes good things away from the life of sinner and ruined the life. 

Adam and Eve lost so much and their lives were ruined..

Jeremiah  5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.

Isaiah  59:1 Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:  59:2 But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.

Ezekiel  18:30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

Hosea  4:7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

Joshua  24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

How you need to learn from this costly mistake of your fore parents, to help you avert great loss, which is usually the lot of all sinners. 

1 Corinthians  10:11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.  10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

2. JESUS THE RESTORER OF LIFE.

The devil came with deception and subtly stole all that God gave humanity away. 

Luke  4:5 And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.  4:6 And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.  4:7 If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.  4:8 And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

John  10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

But glory to God, Jesus our Lord came and by His vicarious sacrifice on the cross, restored all that, the devil stole at Eden back to us. 

RESTORATION OF LIFE ETERNAL. 

Romans  5:15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.  5:16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification.  5:17 For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

RESTORATION OF IMPUTED RIGHTEOUSNESS AND JUSTIFICATION.

Romans  5:18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.  5:19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

REDEMPTION FROM ALL CURSES OF THE LAW AND RESTORATION OF ALL BLESSINGS.. 

Galatians  3:13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:  3:14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

RESTORATION AND  REGAINING OF DOMINION  GOD’S LIFE LOST.

Genesis  1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

Revelation  5:9 And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;  5:10 And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.

3.. JOURNEYING BACK TO RELATIONSHIP LOST.

All that Adam lost  can now be regained by coming  back to God the father through our Lord Jesus Christ.

 RECEIVE HIM AS LORD AND SAVIOR. 

John  10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

John  1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

RETURN  NOW TO THE FATHER BY HEEDING HIS CALL WHOLEHEARTEDLY.  

John  14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Matthew  11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

BELIEVE ON HIM AND HIS WORKS ON THE CROSS OF CALVARY ALONE, FOR YOUR RESTORATION AND SALVATION.

Acts  16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

FOLLOW HIM ALONE AND RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE, LOST BY ADAM AT EDEN.

John  10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:  10:28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

BECOME OVERCOMER THROUGH HIM AND REGAIN ACCESS TO EAT THE TREE OF LIFE, ADAM WAS DRIVEN AWAY FROM.

Revelation  2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

JESUS THIS MORNING IS CALLING YOU TO COME AND REGAIN, WHAT ADAM LOST,   WILL YOU HEED?

BE WISE AND TAKE ADVANTAGE NOW..

Revelation  22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.  22:13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.  22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.  22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.  22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.  22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.
