STUDYING JESUS FROM THE BIBLE. 1^ST & 2^ND BOOKS OF SAMUEL   – THE  ARK OF GOD   Tue 10^TH  DEC  2013

The Lord Jesus Christ commanded his faithful followers of all generations to search the scriptures. Everything from Genesis to Revelation, the entire sixty-six books talks about him alone.  Jhn 5: 39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.  The books of  1^st & 2^nd   Samuel reveals Jesus to us as our THE ARK OF GOD BEFORE WHOM EVERY SATANIC DAGONS AND THE PRINCE OF THIS WORLD Himself WILL FOREVER FALL.  1^ST SAM 5:2-7, MK 3: 10-11, LK 10:17-18, ROM 16:20.

1 Samuel  5:1 And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it from Ebenezer unto Ashdod.  5:2 When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.  5:3 And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.  5:4 And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of the LORD; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off upon the threshold; only the stump of Dagon was left to him.  5:5 Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod unto this day.  5:6 But the hand of the LORD was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with emerods, even Ashdod and the coasts thereof.  5:7 And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us: for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.

Mark  3:10 For he had healed many; insomuch that they pressed upon him for to touch him, as many as had plagues.  3:11 And unclean spirits, when they saw him, fell down before him, and cried, saying, Thou art the Son of God.  3:12 And he straitly charged them that they should not make him known.

Luke  10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.  10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.

Romans  16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

1.      JESUS AND THE ETERNAL DEFEAT OF sATAN.

In the same way Dagon was   completely broken before the ark of God, so satan was eternally defeated by Christ on the cross of Calvary. He was stripped of every power, when our Lord said, it is finished. .

1 Corinthians  2:7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

John  19:30 When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

1 John  3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Hebrews  2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;  2:15 And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

John  12:31 Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.  12:32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

Revelation  12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

Luke  10:18 And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.  10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Revelation  1:18 I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Revelation  20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

2.      JESUS’S ENDLESS DEFENSE FOR SAINTS.

Jesus victory on the cross wss a sure weapon to defeat satan anytime and any day by saints of Christ.

2 COR 10:3-4, EPH 6:10-11, ROM 8:37, COL 2:14-15 1 COR 15:57, 2 COR 2:14, ROM 16:20.  

2 Corinthians  10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:  10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Ephesians  6:10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.  6:11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Romans  8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Colossians  2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;  2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

1 Corinthians  15:57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 

2 Corinthians  2:14 Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

Romans  16:20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.

What are the things Jesus has provided for us as weapons to defeat satan?  

But then, these things can only work for saints, not sinners or church comers.

Mark  16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Acts  19:13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.  19:14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.  19:15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?  19:16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Acts  16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:  16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.  16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

2. HIS POWER,   LK 10:19, ACTS 1:8.  

Luke  10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Acts  1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

3. HIS BLOOD, REV 12:11, 

Revelation  12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

 4. FAITH IN HIS PERSON AND HIS FINISHED WORK ON THE CROSS.      COL 1: 4, , ROM 8:32, JHN 19:37, HEB 12: 2,

Colossians  1:4 Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

Romans  8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

John  19:37 And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

Hebrews  12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

 5.  HIS WORD  JHN 8:32, HEB 1:3,

John  8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Hebrews  1:3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

EVERYTHING  PEOPLE THAT CAME TO HIM, WHEN HE WAS PHYSICALLY ON EARTH RECEIVED, CAN STILL BEE RECEIVED TODAY, IF BY FAITH, YOU Come TO HIM.

3.      JESUS’S EXCRUCIATING DEATH FOR SINNERS.

The greatest satanic work in the life of humanity, that must be destroyed is sin. satan is destined for hell and wishes to take sinners there. 

That was why jesus died the most painful death, to rescue them. 

Unfortunately, sinners are  despising this only means for their eternal salvation.      

        MAT 25:41, 2 THESS 2:10, 2 COR 4:3-4, 2 TI 2 :25-26, JHN10:10, ISA 53:4-10, JHN 6:37,             HEB 7:25,, 1 TI 1:15

Matthew  25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

2 Thessalonians  2:10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  2:11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  2:12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

2 Corinthians  4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:  4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

2 Timothy  2:25 In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;  2:26 And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

Isaiah  53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  53:6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  53:8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.  53:9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  53:10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

John  6:37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

Hebrews  7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

1 Timothy  1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
