THE BOOK OF JUDGES

The Bible from genesis to revelation talk about only one individual. That person is our Lord and Savior. John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me. TODAY, WE WANT TO STUDY WHAT THE BOOK OF JUDGES HAS TO SAY ABOUT OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST.  HE IS THE JUDGE, THAT GOD THE FATHER  HAS COMMITTED ALL JUDGEMENT UNTO HIS HANDS. GOD RAISED UP  FOR ISRAEL, SEVERAL JUDGES THAT JUDGED THEM. LET SEE SOME OF THEM.Judges 2:16Nevertheless the Lord raised up judges, which delivered them out of the hand of those that spoiled them.  Judges 4:4 And Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lapidoth, she judged Israel at that time.  

Judges 10:1-2 1 And after Abimelech there arose to defend Israel Tola the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a man of Issachar; and he dwelt in Shamir in mount Ephraim. 

THE NEW TESTAMENT GAVE US A SUMMARY OF JUDGES AND THE NUMBER OF YEARS. 

Acts 13:20

And after that he gave unto them judges about the space of four hundred and fifty years, until Samuel the prophet. 

AFTER JOSHUA, JUDGES RULED IN ISRAEL FOR FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY YEARS, UNTIL SAMUEL , who was the LAST JUDGE, BEFORE KING SAUL, THE FIRST KING. 

ALL THESE  JUDGES RAISED UP FOR THE NATION OF ISRAEL FORESHADOWED  HOW  GOD THROUGH OUR LORD  JESUS  CHRIST WILL JUDGE THE WHOLE WORLD AT THE END OF TIME. 

John 5:22-29  For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 25 Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live. 26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 28 Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, 29 And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation

We look at the study, under three subheadings:

1. – JESUS THE  RIGHTEOUS JUDGE .

2. JESUS RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT.

 3. JOURNEY TO RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE.

1. – JESUS THE  RIGHTEOUS JUDGE .

THE BIBLE REVEALS FROM SEVERAL SCRIPTURES, THAT GOD THE FATHER WILL JUDGE THE WHOLE WORLD THROUGH  OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST,  AT THE END OF TIME.  .

Matthew 16:27: For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.  

SOME PEOPLE WILL BE REWARDED BY JESUS AT THE END OF TIME AND SOME SHALL BE doomed 

   Matthew 25:31-46  When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: 35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: 36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. 37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. 41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: 43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

JESUS AT THE END OF TIME THROUGH RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT, SEND SOME TO HEAVEN AND SOME TO THE LAKE OF FIRE. 

Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. 22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

. JESUS WILL SEND THE HYPOCRITES TO HELL. 

PETER THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRIT CONFIRMED JESUS AS A JUDGE 

Acts 10:38-42 -How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem; whom they slew and hanged on a tree: 40 Him God raised up the third day, and shewed him openly; 41 Not to all the people, but unto witnesses chosen before of God, even to us, who did eat and drink with him after he rose from the dead. 42 And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead.

PAUL THROUGH THE HOLY SPIRT CONFIRMED  JESUS  aS a  JUDGE

 Acts 17:30-31 –

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: 31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.  

 Romans 2:16:  In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel. 

 Romans 14:10:  But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

 2 Corinthians 5:10:  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

2 Timothy 4:1:   I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

2. JESUS RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT.

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST IN JUDGEMENT WILL JUDGE RIGHTEOUSLY .

Romans 2:5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

Deuteronomy 32:4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he. –  THE ROCK OF AGES.

Genesis 18:25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked:and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee:Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

 2 Timothy 4:8  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, Which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. 

OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST’S   JUDGEMENTS WILL BE  RIGHTEOUS. 

ALWAYS REMEMBER THIS, THERE WILL BE NO EXCUSE ON THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT.

Romans 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

EVERYONE THAT EVER LIVED FROM ADAM TO THE LAST PERSON WILL FACE JUDGEMENT, AND THERE WILL BE NO EXCUSE. 

JUDGEMENTS BEGINS  IMMEDIATELY AFTER DEATH.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

SOME PEOPLE IN A PARTICULAR CHURCH  ARE SO LICENTIOUS IN ATTITUDE. 

THEY BELIEVED THAT AFTER DEATH, THEY WILL be sent  TO PURGATORY FOR PUNISHMENT AND THEN LATTER, RELEASED. THERE IS NOTHING of such

 THAT. IMMEDIATELY SINNERS  CLOSE THEIR  EYES IN DEATH, THEY  FACE JUDGEMENT.

EVERYONE  THAT HAS LIVED ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH, SHALL BE JUDGED AT THE LAST DAY.

Romans 2:4-14 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance? 5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God; 6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

 7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:  These  will bE CHRISTIANS.   

8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; these are SINNERS

 THE  PEOPLE THAT HAVE NOT HEARD THE BIBLE WILL ALSO BE JUDGED RIGHTEOUSLY.

12 For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law; 

13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified. 

14 For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves: 

–

YOU REMEMBER IN THE VILLAGE. SOMEBODY TOOK ANOTHER PERSONS LAND, IMPREGNATE ANOTHER PERSONS WIFE. THE IGWE OR THE KING AND ELDERS WILL JUDGE HIM. 

GOD THROUGH CHRIST WILL USE ALL THESE TO JUDGE THE WORLD AT THE END OF TIME.   

EVERY SINNER   FROM THE BEGINNING OF THE WORLD WILL  RECEIVE  JESUS   RIGHTEOUS JUDGEMENT.

Psalms 9:17  The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God. –

Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

 SINNERS  OF ALL CATEGORIES, YOUNG AND OLD, RICH AND POOR, WILL BE JUDGED AND SENT TO HELL

. NATIONS WILL BE JUDGED. YOU FORGET GOD, BECAUSE, YOU DONT WANT TO HEAR HIS WORDS ON MARRIAGE. ONE MAN, ONE WIFE. WORLDLINESS, BLEACHING, PAINTING, WEARING ABOMINABLE CLOTHES, CORRUPTION, ABORTION, DRUNKENNESS ETC.

WHAT WILL  THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGE USE  TO JUDGE THE WORLD  THE END OF TIME?  

John 12:46-48 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. 

THE BIBLE. GOD’S ETERNAL WORD WILL BE USED FOR JUDGEMENT.

1.  YOUR WORDS   Matthew 12:36-37 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. 37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

2. YOUR ACTIONS, TOWARDS GOD, TOWARDS  OTHERS.

1 Samuel 2:3  Talk no more so exceeding proudly; let not arrogancy come out of your mouth:

for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed.

3.  JUSTIFYING EVIL.

Luke 16:15 And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. 

SOMEBODY DOING EVIL AND BEING HAILED. 

4.. THINGS DONE IN THE SECRET.

  Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

  5. ENCOURAGING OTHERS TO SIN AGAINST GOD.

Romans 1:32  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

OTHERS  ENCOURAGING PEOPLE  TO  COMMIT ABORTION, TO GIVE   FALSE WITNESS IN COURT OR ANYWHERE. LAWYERS, MAGISTRATES, POLICE, POLITICIANS,  ETC. 

  6. DIVERS LICENTIOUS LIFE STYLE.

Ecclesiastes 11:9 Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes:but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.

YOUNG PEOPLE,  WANTS  TO LIVE AS THEY  LIKE? THEY  DON’T WANT US TO CORRECT THEM? GOD WILL JUDGE THEIR  ACTS ACCORDINGLY .

Revelation 21:8  But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

ABUSING PEOPLE. ABUSE YOUR HUSBAND, YOUR WIFE, YOUR CHILDREN, YOUR NEIGHBORS, YOUR CO-WORKERS ETC.

Matthew 5:22But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

7.     GAINING THE WORLD AT THE EXPENSE OF YOUR SOUL

Matthew 16:26  For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul? 

8. REJECTING GOD’S WORDS.

1 Samuel 15:22-23 And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.

Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

PASTORS PREACHING, ONLY THINGS PEOPLE WANT TO HEAR WILL BE JUDGED.

Hosea 4:6  My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge,

I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten theh law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

THE PASTOR AND THEIR ENTIRE CONGREGATION SHALL BE THROWN TO HELL.

THE CHURCH HAS NOW BEING TURNED TO BUSINESS SCHOOL AND FREEDOM FROM SIN, IS NO MORE PREACHED.

9. SEEKING HELP FROM THE UNGODLY AND FALSE PROPHETS.

1 Chronicles 10:13-14  So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the Lord, even against the word of the Lord, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; 14 And enquired not of the Lord: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.

PEOPLE THAT ARE COMING TO A CHURCH  AND  STILL GO TO FALSE PROPHETS,  FOR VISION AND QUICK FIX.

 HELL WILL BE WAITING FOR SUCH PEOPLE , IF THEY  DONT REPENT.

10. BELIEVING   LYING WONDERS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE TRUTH.

Matthew 24:24-25 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. 25 Behold, I have told you before. – 

LEAVING THE TRUTH FOR  MIRACLES THROUGH  FALSE PROPHETS.

11. DESIRING ERRORS AND HATING TO LISTEN TO THE TRUTH

WHEN  PEOPLE STOP COMING TO A CHURCH , BECAUSE, THEY  DO NOT WANT TO listen to THE TRUTH.

 2 Thessalonians 2:10-12 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

 WHEN PEOPLE REFUSED TO CORRECT THEIR PAST WICKEDNESS. UNSETTLED RESTITUTIONS.

Ecclesiastes 3:15  That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.  –

Ezekiel 33:14-16 Again, when I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right; 15 If the wicked restore the pledge, give again that he had robbed, walk in the statutes of life, without committing iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die. 16 None of his sins that he hath committed shall be mentioned unto him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.

3. JOURNEY TO RIGHTEOUS JUSTICE.

MANY ALREADY HAVE BEEN JUDGED AND GONE TO HELL. HOW CAN YOU ESCAPE GODS  FIERY  JUDGEMENT?

 BE WISE, BE READY AND ALWAYS LIVE WITH ETERNITY IN VIEW. BE READY TO GO WITH HIM WHEN THE RAPTURE  TAKE PLACE OR READY TO MEET WITH HIM AFTER  DEATH.

Deuteronomy 32:29  Q that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!

Proverbs 19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

ALWAYS CONSIDER YOUR LATTER END, BY LIVING WITH ETERNITY IN VIEW  

John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE  BIBLICALLY  saved. 

You are BORN AGAIN?

Luke 13:23-25 Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

24 Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. 25 When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: 

 ENTER  THE NARROW GATE AND REMAIN THERE UNTIL JESUS COMES.

Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

ENSURE  YOUR NAME  IS  IN THE BOOK OF LIFE?

MAINTAIN A LIFE OF  CONSISTENT HOLINESS.

1 John 3:1-3 1 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not. 2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is. 3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.

ENSURE YOU ARE  FREE FROM  UNGODLINESS AND  OF WORLDLINESS .

Titus 2:11-13 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; 13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

BE ALWAYS   READY FOR THE RAPTURE.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18  But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. 16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

DON’T LOOK BACK LIKE LOTS WIFE AND JUDAS.
