Occupy till I come.

Occupy till I come

Luke  19:13 And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.

Certainly our Lord is coming back. He Himself affirmed it.

John  14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  14:2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself;

 that where I am, there ye may be also.

He wants His followers to be committed to doing two things.

1. Doing everything to be ready when He comes.

Matthew  24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

Getting others in their world of influence ready also for His coming.

Daniel  12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

Unfortunately, none of these two expectations are accorded right attention, even though time the rapture is imminent and tine is short.

Jeremiah  8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

1 Corinthians  7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short: it remaineth, that both they that have wives be as though they had none;

1. The churchgoers are turning back from the Lord in their multitude.

Looking back like Lots wife & Demas.

Luke  17:32 Remember Lot’s wife.

2 Timothy  4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

2. Building up what they wants destroyed.

Galatians  2:18 For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.

3. Compromising their faith & having their names removed from the book of life.

Hosea  4:17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.

Exodus  32:33 And the LORD said unto Moses, Whosoever hath sinned against me, him will I blot out of my book.

4. Pursuing ephemeral gaining the world at the expense of their precious undying souls.

Matthew  16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?

Little attention is now giving to sinners, who are languishing in their sins and going in their multitude to damnable eternity.

Jesus is bemoaning the remaining saints, whether they too are going away and down playing His painful sacrifice.

John  6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

Lamentations  1:12 Is it nothing to you, all ye that pass by? behold, and see if there be any sorrow like unto my sorrow, which is done unto me, wherewith the LORD hath afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.

Beloved the Lord is exhorting you to arise and rescue the perishing.

Lamentations  2:19 Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the LORD: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.

This will bring great uncorruptible inheritances to them in eternity.

Daniel  12:3 And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

1 Peter  1:4 To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

But then if they fail,  fearsome judgement is inevitable.

Ezekiel  3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.  3:18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  3:19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.  3:20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling-block before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.  3:21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.

Beloved be wise unto salvation now to avoid regrettable eternity. It shall not be your portion in Jesus name.

2 Timothy  3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

Let us pray.
