Readiness of God to pardon penitent sinners.

Readiness of God to forgive sinners, sinning in ignorance.

Acts  3:17 And now, brethren, I wot that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.  3:18 But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled.  3:19 Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord;  3:20 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:  3:21 Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.  3:22 For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.  3:23 And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

The blessed Holy Spirit through apostle Peter revealed to the church, the readiness of God at all times to forgive penitent ignorant sinners.

Our Lord Jesus Christ prayed for His persecutors sinning against God ignorantly.

Luke  23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Our Lord further informed His followers that, they also shall be persecuted by ignorant sinners.

John  16:1 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended.  16:2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.  16:3 And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.  16:4 But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.

Apostle Paul referred to those Jews  who crucified our Lord as ignorant sinners and blind.

Acts  13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.

2 Corinthians  3:13 And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:  3:14 But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.  3:15 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.

He also referred to the idol worshipers at Lysra for idolizing himself and Barnabas ignorantly.

Acts  14:15 And saying, Sirs, why do ye these things? We also are men of like passions with you, and preach unto you that ye should turn from these vanities unto the living God, which made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all things that are therein:  14:16 Who in times past suffered all nations to walk in their own ways.

God is willing to pardon sin done in ignorance by penitent sinners.

Acts  17:30 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:  17:31 Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

God forgave Paul who repented with penitence.

1 Timothy  1:12 And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;  1:13 Who was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.

He is willing to do same for all penitent sinners of all ages reaching out to Him, for pardon.

2 Chronicles  7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

If you will reach out to Him today, He will do same for you too.

Let us pray.
