Bible believing believers hated for Christ’s sake.

Bible believing believers hated for Christ’s sake.

John  15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another.  15:18 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.  15:19 If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.  15:20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also.  15:21 But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me.  15:22 If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.  15:23 He that hateth me hateth my Father also.  15:24 If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.  15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

Severally in the Bible,  it was revealed that true followers of Christ shall be hated for His sake.

Luke  6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.

Matthew  5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Matthew  10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Matthew  24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.

Mark  13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

John  17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.  17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.  17:16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

Philippians  1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;

1 John  3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

Why you are hated?

1. Evil doers hateth the light.

John  3:20 For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.

John  7:7 The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.

2. Because you are receptive to God’s word.

3. When you preach the truth that condemns their sins.

1 Kings  22:8 And the king of Israel said unto Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may enquire of the LORD: but I hate him; for he doth not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

But then what must you do?

Luke  6:22 Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man’s sake.  6:23 Rejoice ye in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers unto the prophets.

Matthew  5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.  5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

1 Peter  4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:  4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.  4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

Matthew  24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.  24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Revelation  2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

Romans  12:17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.  12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.  12:19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.  12:20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.  12:21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 Thessalonians  5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.

1 Peter  3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Matthew  5:43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy.  5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;  5:45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.  5:46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?  5:47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?  5:48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

God’s grace will be sufficient for you in Jesus name.

Let us pray.
