Jesus great promise for all Bible believing believers of all ages.

Jesus great promise for all Bible believing believers of all ages.

John  14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

This promise was given to all faithful followers of our Lord Jesus Christ of all ages and that includes you in particular.

There are some things to remember about Jesus and His unfailing, infallible, eternal words

1. He is the truth personified, He can not lie or exaggerate.

John  14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

2. His words shall surely come to pass.

Matthew  24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

3. He is God.

Philippians  2:5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:  2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

He said if you are a faithful followers of His, you will do the works He did and even greater works. Listen to what you can do.

John  14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Matthew  17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Matthew  21:21 Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Mark  16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke  10:17 And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name.  10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

To experience the fulfilment of this promise, you will need to believe Him and His eternal unfailing words.

Mark  9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Luke  1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

John  14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Romans  4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God;  4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.

The reason why you must believe in Him and His words are:

God’s words can not fail.

Isaiah  34:16 Seek ye out of the book of the LORD, and read: no one of these shall fail, none shall want her mate: for my mouth it hath commanded, and his spirit it hath gathered them.

God’s words will always accomplish it’s purposes.

Isaiah  55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

God’s words shall not be prolonged before fulfilment.

Ezekiel  12:28 Therefore say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged any more, but the word which I have spoken shall be done, saith the Lord GOD.

Listen to some instances of the fulfilment of this great promise.

John  14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

In the ministry of Peter.

Acts  3:6 Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.  3:7 And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.  3:8 And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

Acts  5:14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)  5:15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.  5:16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Acts  9:32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.  9:33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.  9:34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.  9:36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.  9:37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.  9:38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.  9:39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.  9:40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.  9:41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

In the ministry of Paul.

Acts  16:16 And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:  16:17 The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.  16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.

Acts  19:11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:  19:12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Romans  15:18 For I will not dare to speak of any of those things which Christ hath not wrought by me, to make the Gentiles obedient, by word and deed,  15:19 Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.

In your own ministry.

Mark  9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

Luke  1:45 And blessed is she that believed: for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.

Mark  16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;  16:18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Luke  10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Because you will believe, then even you shall experience this promise in Jesus name.

John  14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

It shall be so in Jesus name.

Let us pray.
