Jesus Christ, the believer’s Master.

by Bishop Peter Babalolain Devotional

Jesus Christ, the Believer’s Master.

John  11:28 And when she had so said, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying, The Master is come, and calleth for thee.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is the only Master for all believers.

He Himself said, you should have no other Master, nor call any other person your master.

Matthew  23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.  23:10 Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ

Our Lord said, He is our Master in deed.

John  13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

The saints of old called Him, Master.

John  20:16 Jesus saith unto her, Mary. She turned herself, and saith unto him, Rabboni; which is to say, Master.

Even His adversaries called Him, Master .

Luke  20:21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

Our Lord taught His followers, not to have two masters.

Matthew  6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Luke  16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

He alone is your Master and you should look up to Him alone.

Psalms  123:1 Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.  123:2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

Jesus is our Master that teaches, the way of truth.

Luke  20:21 And they asked him, saying, Master, we know that thou sayest and teachest rightly, neither acceptest thou the person of any, but teachest the way of God truly:

No wonder , God the Father, said, you should listen to Him.

Matthew  17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.

Our Lord Himself said, you should learn of Him.

Matthew  11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Jesus Christ, the believer’s singular Master and Lord.

John  13:13 Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another’s feet.

Please heed His words and you shall be blessed here and hereafter.

Luke  6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?  6:47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:  6:48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Matthew  7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.

Receive grace to be doer of Jesus’s words,  for your earthly and eternal well being in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians  9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:

Let us pray.
