The consequences of fearing men more than God and the blessings of fearing God

John  9:17 They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.  9:18 But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.  9:19 And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?  9:20 His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:  9:21 But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.  9:22 These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.  9:23 Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.

Beloved Brethren, one most dangerous sin that will be responsible why multitude both from the church and the world, shall be ending up in hell and lake of fire, is the fear men.

You fear your boss in the office more than God to keep your job.

You fear your husband or your wife more than God to be at peace with your spouse and displease and disobey God.

You fear your children providing you with source of your livelihood and disobey God.

You are afraid of persecutions from men and do you compromise and have your name removed from the book of life.

This is the reason why multitude in the church and outside the church shall end up in the lake of fire and miss heaven.  Listen to what the Bible says.

Revelation  21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

The Bible says the fearful.  You fear men more than God. Listen to what the Bible says about the fear of man.Proverbs 29:25The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.Isaiah  51:7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.
51:12 I, even I, am he that comforteth you: who art thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man that shall die, and of the son of man which shall be made as grass;  51:13 And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where is the fury of the oppressor?
The Bible says you should fear God and not man.

Isaiah  8:9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.  8:10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.  8:11 For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,  8:12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.  8:13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

Listen to how the fear of men , made the parents of the blind man, Jesus opened his eyes, not to praise God.

Peter denied Jesus and would have ended up in hell, if not for the penitence of his heart.

Matthew  26:69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee.  26:70 But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.  26:71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.  26:72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.  26:73 And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.  26:74 Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew.  26:75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

Joseph the rich ruler did not confess Jesus, because of the fear of men.

John  19:38 And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

But then listen to the Egyptians midwives who defied the order of Pharaoh because they feared God and were blessed.

Exodus  1:15 And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:  1:16 And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live.  1:17 But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.  1:18 And the king of Egypt called for the midwives, and said unto them, Why have ye done this thing, and have saved the men children alive?  1:19 And the midwives said unto Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not as the Egyptian women; for they are lively, and are delivered ere the midwives come in unto them.  1:20 Therefore God dealt well with the midwives: and the people multiplied, and waxed very mighty.  1:21 And it came to pass, because the midwives feared God, that he made them houses.

The blessed Holy Spirit taught us  to fear God .

Hebrews  12:28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:

There are several exhorations from both the old and new testaments, that you should fear not.

Fear of men has consequences.

Jeremiah  2:18 And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?  2:19 Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.

Revelation  21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
