Jesus emphasize teaching of God’s Word to you. 

John  6:45 It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me.

In both the old and new testaments, the scriptures emphasized the need for God’s people to be taught the word of God, for their profiting. Listen. 

Isaiah  2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Isaiah  54:13 And all thy children shall be taught of the LORD; and great shall be the peace of thy children.

Micah  4:2 And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

Ephesians  4:21 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

When God’s people are taught God’s word systematically and expositorily, it profitted them. 

Isaiah  48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.  48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Psalms  32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

2 Timothy  3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;  3:15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:  3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

So during the earthly ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ, He was committed to teaching His followers systematicaly.. 

Matthew  7:28 And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine:  7:29 For he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

Jesus was committed to the teaching ministry. 

Matthew  4:23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

Matthew  9:35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Matthew  21:23 And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?

Mark  6:2 And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue: and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From whence hath this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him, that even such mighty works are wrought by his hands?

Luke  5:17 And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, which were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

No wonder one of the rulers  of the Jews came to Him and called Him, a teacher sent from God. 

John  3:1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:  3:2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Others in Bible days taught like Jesus. 

Moses

Deuteronomy  4:5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.  4:6 Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

Samuel. 

1 Samuel  12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way:

The apostles. Peter and others. 

Acts  5:28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

Acts  5:42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Paul apostle. 

Acts  28:31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

Colossians  1:28 Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus:

No wonder the last commandment, Jesus gave before His ascention, is for His church till the end of time, be taught the totality of His words. 

Matthew  28:20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

Some of the teachings of Christ, that wanted His church to be taught. 

Poor in the spirit, relying solely on the finished work of Christ on the cross. 

Matthew  5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 

Mourning for your sins and that of others. 

 5:4 Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Likeness to Christ. 

  5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.  

Thirsty for righteousness. . 

5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled. 

Merciful, liberal and benevolent in nature. 

 5:7 Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.  

Biblical. Purity for eternity with God 

5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God. 

Peace makes, brokering peace between holy God and sinful humanity. 

 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Light of the world. 

Matthew  5:14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.  5:15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.  5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Doing the word and teaching it, like Jesus. 

Matthew  5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Acts  1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Reality of hell. 

Matthew  5:22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Mark  9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:  9:44 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.  9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:  9:46 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.  9:47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:  9:48 Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

Restitution. 

Matthew  5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;  5:24 Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Luke  19:8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.  19:9 And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

Adultery forbidden. 

Matthew  5:27 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:  5:28 But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.  

Mark  10:10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.  10:11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.  10:12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

Giving priority to eternal things. 

Matthew  6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Endeavour to enter and continue on the road that leads to eternity. 

Matthew  7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Damnable consequences of sin

Matthew  7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Call to be wise. 

Matthew  7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

What should be your attitude when you are taught by heaven minded ministers? 

Exodus  24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient.

Acts  17:10 And the brethren immediately sent away Paul and Silas by night unto Berea: who coming thither went into the synagogue of the Jews.  17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Doing this will guarantee our earthly and eternal well-being. 

Revelation  3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.  3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
