God’s conditional blessings. ( Click here to view more details. )

Daily devotional study 33. John’s gospel. God’s conditional blessing.
John  5:1 After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.  5:2 Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.  5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water.  5:4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.  5:5 And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years.  5:6 When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?  5:7 The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.  5:8 Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.  5:9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath.  5:10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed.  5:11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.  5:12 Then asked they him, What man is that which said unto thee, Take up thy bed, and walk?  5:13 And he that was healed wist not who it was: for Jesus had conveyed himself away, a multitude being in that place.  5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

Beloved Brethren, our Father in heaven and Jesus Christ His Son are faithful and unchanging.

Numbers  23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?  23:20 Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

Deuteronomy  7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

1 Corinthians  1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

Their blessings in your life are for lifetime and permanent.

Ecclesiastes  3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

Romans  11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

However, the Bible says you need to know the truth about what will make you enjoy these blessings all the days of your life.

Hosea  4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

John  8:32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

God will sustain His blessings in your life for a lifetime, if you render

continual unalloyed obedience to Him in all  thing’s and at all times.

If you do otherwise, He will also withdraw His blessings in your life.

Romans  11:22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

Joshua  24:20 If ye forsake the LORD, and serve strange gods, then he will turn and do you hurt, and consume you, after that he hath done you good.

Hosea  4:7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.

Hosea  8:3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Isaiah  3:10 Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings.  3:11 Woe unto the wicked! it shall be ill with him: for the reward of his hands shall be given him.

1 Chronicles  28:9 And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.

2 Chronicles  15:2 And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and if ye seek him, he will be found of you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.

Job  36:11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.  36:12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.

1 Samuel  12:22 For the LORD will not forsake his people for his great name’s sake: because it hath pleased the LORD to make you his people.  12:24 Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.  12:25 But if ye shall still do wickedly, ye shall be consumed, both ye and your king.

So endeavor to be determinedly obedient to Him till Christ comes and you also will enjoy Him all through your life. It shall be so in Jesus name.
