COMMITMENT OF JESUS TO DOING GOD’S PERFECT WILL.( Click here for the details )

Daily devotional study 29. John’s gospel.  Jesus commitment to doing His Father’s will.

John  4:31 In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat.  4:32 But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of.  4:33 Therefore said the disciples one to another, Hath any man brought him ought to eat?  4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.

Beloved brethren, everything that Jesus did , during His earthly ministry were examples for Bible believing believers and you in particular to follow and replicate.

One major undeniable footsteps of Jesus, you in particular should follow, was His undaunted commitment to doing His Father’s will.  Listen to the following:

John  5:30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

John  6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Matthew  26:39 And he went a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

Luke  22:42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

Before He was born, it has been prophesied that, He would be committed to doing His Father’s will.

Psalms  40:6 Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required.  40:7 Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me,  40:8 I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.

The Bible also reveals, that, the prophesy was fulfilled during His earthly ministry.

Hebrews  10:5 Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:  10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure.  10:7 Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.  10:8 Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law;  10:9 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.

Like our Lord Jesus Christ, you also should be committed to doing the will of God in every facets of your life.

But then you wonder, how do I know the will of God?  Listen to this.

Mark  3:33 And he answered them, saying, Who is my mother, or my brethren?  3:34 And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren!  3:35 For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother.

Luke  8:20 And it was told him by certain which said, Thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to see thee.  8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and do it.

So you discover that your obedience to God’s unfailing unchanging infallible eternal words makes you to be doing the will of God.

Job  23:12 Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.

Every time you want to do something, you will ask yourself, what does the Bible says about what I want to do?

Matthew  4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

So for you to be biblically saved is the will of God.

1 Timothy  2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;  2:4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

To be biblically Sanctified,is the will of God.

1 Thessalonians  4:3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:  4:4 That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

To walk on the narrow road that leads to heaven is the will of God.

Matthew  7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:  7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

To be a wise person doing the sayings of Christ, is the will of God.

Matthew  7:24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:  7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.  7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand:  7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.

Mark  10:2 And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.  10:3 And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?  10:4 And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.  10:5 And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.  10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.  10:7 For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;  10:8 And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.  10:9 What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.  10:10 And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.  10:11 And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.  10:12 And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

So then, monogamy, not polygamy is the will of God.

No divorce and remarriage is the will of God.

So every point in your life, never take any step without asking yourself what the word of God says about what you are set to do.

Pause here and ask yourself, everything, you are doing, every steps you are taking, are they in accordance to God’s words, which are God’s will?

If your answer is yes, then, you can be sure that, both your earthly and eternal wellbeing are guaranteed and secure.

If it is not, then , know that, even though, you might enjoy this earth, your eternity is fearsome according to the unfailing words of Jesus.

Matthew  7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.  7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?  7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity

So, if this so, repent of everything you are doing, that are not in agreement with the word of God, now, because tomorrow is not guaranteed.

The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
