Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | February 22, 2020. Enrich and Sustain your relationship with Jesus reading our daily devotional – – In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. John 1:1-3 | In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth – Genesis 1:1
Ecc 7:8 Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit.
Isa 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure
Isa 64:4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Mat 24:4 — Mat 24:8 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Act 15:18 Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world.
Psa 111:10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom:a good understanding have all they that do his commandments:his praise endureth for ever.
Psa 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning:and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.
Pro 1:7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge:but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Mat 19:3 — Mat 19:8 The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so.
1Pe 4:17 — 1Pe 4:18 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Heb 3:14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
1Jo 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the works of the devil.
I celebrate our Father in heaven who in His providence has made you a very wise person.
Pro 9:12 If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself:but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
But then if you are going to affirm this biblical wiseness by yourself, it will reflects in your daily preparations to meet with God, which might be sooner than you think.
Amo 4:12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel:and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
You will determinedly and conscientiously be working on the eternity you desire.
Deuteronomy 32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
Proverbs 19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
Beloved, there are two eternal ends. You and not God will determine your choice.
Matthew 25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
I am persuaded of you that you choice is eternal bliss. Because this is so, you have to work on it determinedly and conscientiously.
It has never been and it will never be something attained automatically, but it is always conscientiously work towards.
What then must you be doing, if you want to culminating your sojourn on earth in eternal bliss?
In the days of old, there was a common parlance that all roads led to Rome. But then not all roads leads to heaven.
If you are interested in heaven, there is only one road.
Mat 7:13 — Mat 7:14 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
Isa 35:8 — Isa 35:9 And an highway shall be there, and a way,
and it shall be called The way of holiness; the unclean shall not pass over it; but it shall be for those: the wayfaring men, though fools, shall not err therein. No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, it shall not be found there; but the redeemed shall walk there:
After entering that road, everything you do thereafter, must be done from the perspective of eternity.
Col 3:1 — Col 3:4 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Beloved, as a sincere wise person. Pause here and without any iota of presumption. Examine yourself, have you entered this singular road that leads to glory? If you are, are you still walking on this road?
Scriptures abound of innumerable numbers of people, who walked there and ultimately lost out. You shall not in Jesus name.
Mat 7:21 — Mat 7:23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
Beloved, you might be surrounded by scoffers who shamefully trivialize the reality of the dawning rapture.
2Pe 3:3 — 2Pe 3:4 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
The imminence of the rapture with teach them painful lessons when it eventually happens.
1Co 15:51 — 1Co 15:52 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
Perhaps it might be you are one of such people. I am persuaded are not and you shall not be In Jesus name.
But then, let’s ever set aside the issue of the rapture, temporarily. Day after day something happens globally and always reported in the news. It is called death.
You have never seen anyone globally who are thinking about it, until it gets to them. See what the Bible says.
Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Psa 49:10 — Psa 49:12 For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever,
and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not:
he is like the beasts that perish.
Let’s leave every other person out of this. Let’s talk about you. Do you know that death is closer to you more than the distance between your bedroom and your toilet?
1Sa 20:3 And David sware moreover, and said, Thy father certainly knoweth that I have found grace in thine eyes; and he saith, Let not Jonathan know this, lest he be grieved: but truly as the Lord liveth, and as thy soul liveth, there is but a step between me and death.
I wish you in particular long life and prosperity. It shall be so in Jesus name.
But then, suppose you, I am taking about you. Suppose you die now. Where will you spend eternity?
You know I have not come out of the pains , my brethren at Gombe, suffered this last January at the hands of Boko Haram. They were killed in the midst of service.
Our Father in heaven is sovereign and unquestionable. Wisdom demands that you should learn lessons from the misfortunes of others.
Suppose, you are one of the victims or suppose same thing happen to you. Where will you spend eternity?
Deuteronomy 32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
Proverbs 19:20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
It is for this reason that the blessed Holy Spirit, is sharing with you in particular, biblical preparations for the beginning of the end.
The journey to the land of the dead has a begining, but has no end. It is forever and ever. If this is the issue, then why are you leaving your life as if, it doesn’t matter?
Let us look at the lives of these two people.
Luk 16:19 — Luk 16:25 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented
Beloved, those two people have been in the place of death before our Lord came to undertake His earthly ministry.
One is in comfort, the other in torment. I pray yours too shall be comfort. But then it takes more than amen to make it happen. You need to work on it.
See example of those who work on it and attain it and follow their examples.
Heb 11:13 — Heb 11:16 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
Beloved, rapture is dawning, death is looming.. You as a matter of compulsion must be preparing for either of both. Rapture or glory. May the Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
2Pe 3:10 — 2Pe 3:14 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
Rev 22:11 — Rev 22:15 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
