Dearly beloved brethren, there is one determined resolution you must make, to make your Christian profession, to have resemblance like the saints of old that walked with God.

You must have mastery over every part of your bodies . You must be in firm control at all times over every part of your bodies.

Job 31:1 I made a covenant with mine eyes;whhy then should I think upon a maid?

1 Corinthians 9:27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

The mastery over your body becomes very important, because any part of your body that is loose, becomes a gateway through which satan entreat you to sin against God and suffer avoidable punishment here and hereafter.

The following people paid dearly for been delinquent over parts of their bodies.

1. Eve.

Gen 3:6 — Gen 3:7 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.

Achan

Jos 7:20 — Jos 7:22 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done: When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it. So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it.

King David.

2Sa 11:2 — 2Sa 11:4 And it came to pass in an eveningtide, that David arose from off his bed, and walked upon the roof of the king’s house: and from the roof he saw a woman washing herself; and the woman was very beautiful to look upon. And David sent and enquired after the woman. And one said, Is not this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam, the wife of Uriah the Hittite? And David sent messengers, and took her; and she came in unto him, and he lay with her; for she was purified from her uncleanness: and she returned unto her
house.

These three people suffered avoidable pains an loses for their inability to control what their eyes saw. This shall not be your portion in Jesus name.

But then, see these saints that have mastery over their bodies were blessed by God. You must follow their good example until Jesus comes.

Joseph

Gen 39:7 — Gen 39:10 And it came to pass after these things, that his master’s wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said, Lie with me. But he refused, and said unto his master’s wife, Behold, my master wotteth not what is with me in the house, and he hath committed all that he hath to my hand; There is none greater in this house than I; neither hath he kept back any thing from me but thee, because thou art his wife: how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God? And it came to pass, as she spake to Joseph day by day, that he hearkened not unto her, to lie by her, or to be with her.

Daniel

Dan 1:8 — Dan 1:9. But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself. Now God had brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.

Beloved, to help you be in control over your bodies, see what the scriptures says, you must be doing, as a matter of compulsion.

1. Avoid tempting objects

Psalms 101:3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

2. Live a consistent holiness lifestyle.

Isaiah 33:15. He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions,that shaketh his hands from holding of bribes,that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from seeing evil;

3. Separate from any persons, that can make you to sin, no matter the gains you derive from such people.

Mark 9:43-48. if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.

4. Live a crucified lifestyle, dead to sin, self, flesh and the worldly systems of doing things.

Romans 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Galatians 2:20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Galatians 5:24 And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Galatians 6:14 But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.

The good Lord shall help you in particular in Jesus name.
