Dearly beloved brethren, today’s believers differs so much with those in Bible days and days of old.
This is because today’s believers detest and despise the good way , the old time religion.
Jeremiah 6:16 Thus saith the LORD, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk therein.
You hardly find a believer this day whose yes is yes and nay is nay.
Mat 5:37 But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Majority of those who profess religion, find it difficult to perform their oaths. They lack integrity.
Matthew 5:33 Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:
Pause a little and sincerely examine yourself, are you cut up in this web?
This attitude has fearsome consequences here and hereafter on anyone and everyone found guilty.
Should you discover that you are guilty of this shameful attitude, please repent and make necessary corrections and restitutions.
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
No wonder the scriptures severally exhorts Bible believing believers to pay their vows and redeem their pledges to the Lord.
Psalms 116:14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

Psalms 22:25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.
Psalms 56:12 Thy vows are upon me, O God: I will render praises unto thee.
Psa 66:13 — Psa 66:15 I will go into thy house with burnt offerings: I will pay thee my vows, Which my lips have uttered, and my mouth hath spoken, when I was in trouble. I will offer unto thee burnt sacrifices of fatlings,with the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah.
Jonah 2:9 But I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that that I have vowed. Salvation is of the LORD.
Nahum 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows:
for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
Psalms 15:4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD.
He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
Job 22:27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee,and thou shalt pay thy vows.
God frowns and punish those who vows and fall to pay them. But then, He blesses those who are faithfil in redeeming their vows.
Ecc 5:4 — Ecc 5:6 When thou vowest a vow unto God, defer not to pay it; for he hath no pleasure in fools: pay that which thou hast vowed. Better is it that thou shouldest not vow, than that thou shouldest vow and not pay. Suffer not thy mouth to cause thy flesh to sin; neither say thou before the angel, that it was an error: wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands?
Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
The good Lord shall help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
