Dearly beloved brethren, it is painful but true that the majority of those who profess religion in the universal church of Christ are wicked people on their way to hell.
The reason for this is very very simple, they have forgotten God, because they have forgotten His words.
Psalms 9:17 The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Psalms 50:16-22 But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and casteth my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
No wonder, it is for this reason, that Bible believing believers like you are severally exhorted in the scriptures not to forget God by forgetting His words.
Deu 8:11 Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:
Proverbs 3:1-2 My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee.
This was the major reason why king David took a firm resolve never to forget God’s word and forget God.
I will delight myself in thy statutes [ I will take pleasure in your laws ]: I will not forget thy word. – Psalms 119:16
Beloved , to help you not to forget God by forgetting His words, then do what king David was always doing. Determine to make the words of God your singular delight.
Psalms 1:2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
Psalms 119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors. 119:40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness. 119:47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. 119:70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law. 119:77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
Beloved , see how the blessed Holy Spirit amplified this same passage.
I will delight myself in thy statutes [ I will take pleasure in your laws ]: I will not forget thy word. – Psalms 119:16
David took more delight in God’s statutes than in the pleasures of his court or the honours of his camp, more than in his sword or in his harp. When the law is written in the heart duty becomes a delight. He will never forget what he has learned of the things of God: “I will not forget thy word, not only I will not quite forget it, but I will be mindful of it when I have occasion to use it.” Those that meditate in God’s word, and delight in it, are in no great danger of forgetting it.
May the good Lord help you to do same to guarantee your eternal well being in Jesus name.
I will delight myself in thy statutes [ I will take pleasure in your laws ]: I will not forget thy word. – Psalms 119:16
