Dearly beloved brethren, the Bible exhorts Bible believing believers like you to follow what is good.
1Th 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
3Jo 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
King David stood out unmatched among many saints in the Bible as you see from this passage. You must emulate him for your eternal well being. See it
I am a stranger in the earth [ I am here on earth for just a little while ]: hide not thy commandments from me. – Psalms 119:19
King David was a man that knew as much of the world, and was as well known in it, as most men. God built him a house, established his throne; strangers submitted to him, and people that he had not known served him; he had a name like the names of the great men, and yet he calls himself a stranger, like his progenitors. See them
Heb 11:13 — Heb 11:16 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
King David was aware he will soon be transiting to a place better than the earth, where, he would spend eternity . No wonder, he wanted God not to hide from him, what shall opened the door of life eternal for him. See the response of God to his questions.
Psalms 15:1-5 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD.He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
Psalms 24:3-4 Who shall ascend into the hill of the LORD? or who shall stand in his holy place? He that hath clean hands, and a pure heart; who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
I am a stranger in the earth [ I am here on earth for just a little while ]: hide not thy commandments from me. – Psalms 119:19
Pause here beloved brethren. Have you attained what God made king David to attain? If your response is no. Have you been asking God , what you must be doing to live eternally with Him?
On the contrary , you are encumbered with your pursuit of ephemeral and transient temporal.
See what the Bible says.
Luke 21:34-36 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Beloved, always remember, never ever forget. You are in deed a stranger on this side of heaven.
1Pe 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
1 Chronicles 29:15 For we are strangers before thee, and sojourners, as were all our fathers: our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is none abiding.
Psalms 39:12 Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
2 Corinthians 5:6 Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
I am a stranger in the earth [ I am here on earth for just a little while ]: hide not thy commandments from me. – Psalms 119:19
Dearly beloved you must always be living with eternity in view like king David and other saints of old.
Col 3:1 — Col 3:4. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Deuteronomy 32:29 O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
See how this passage was amplified.
I am a stranger in the earth; or, “a sojourner” Earth is not our true home. We all “seek a country” Hide not thy commandments from me. God “hides” things from the wise and prudent which he reveals to “babes” The psalmist prays that the true meaning of God’s Word may not be kept back from him.
May the good Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
I am a stranger in the earth [ I am here on earth for just a little while ]: hide not thy commandments from me. – Psalms 119:19
