We come nearest to greatness when we are great in humility. Humility values God’s ways above all else. Jesus exhorts the disciples not to act like proud kings, but humble servants.
Matthew 3:13-15. Then cometh Jesus from Galilee to Jordan unto John, to be baptized of him. But John forbad him, saying, I have need to be baptized of thee, and comest thou to me? And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
Beloved, glory and honour to our loving Father in heaven for His ceaseless unmerited mercies that He made you to enjoy since January till the end of March. In deed it is because of His unfathomable mercies that you are not consumed. Let your gratitude be made known to Him.
Lamentations 3:22-24. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
Now that He has brought you to the new month of April, He has ceaseless good thoughts and plans for you, April in Latin means aperio. It means to open. So this month doors of goodness and mercies, favours, desired liftings and good health shall be opened for you in Jesus name .
One desirable virtue that can hasten all of these to you, this month and until Christ cones, is Christlike humility. Your Father in heaven loves the humble and have nothing to do with the proud. So determinedly cultivate the virtue of humility. Grace to do so receive in Jesus name.
Psalms 138:6. Though the Lord be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly: but the proud he knoweth afar off.
Proverbs 3:34: Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly.
No wonder our Lord Jesus Christ received the exalted name and majestic throne from His Father in heaven, because He was very very humble. This humility was shown in His interactions with John the Baptist. See the creator of all things, coming to His creation for baptism. How God must help you to emulate this gracious virtue from our Lord. See it yourself.
The scriptures revealed in prophecies that our Lord was really humble. See some of them.
Psalms 40:6-8. Sacrifice and offering thou didst not desire; mine ears hast thou opened: burnt offering and sin offering hast thou not required. Then said I, Lo, I come: in the volume of the book it is written of me I delight to do thy will, O my God: yea, thy law is within my heart.
Isaiah 42:1 -4. Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street. A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law.
Isaiah 50:5-6. ¶The Lord GOD hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Zechariah 9:9: ¶Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass.
Like our Lord, some other saints of God like Moses and David the king, had this same gracious virtue and they humbled themselves before our Father in heaven. See it yourself.
Numbers 12:3: (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
Psalms 131:1: LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
Beloved, never ever forget, God the Father loves the humble and associates with them and blesses them here and hereafter.
Isaiah 57:15: For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Isaiah 66:2: For all those things hath mine hand made, and all those things have been, saith the LORD: but to this man will I look, even to him that ispoor and of a contrite spirit, and trembleth at my word.
On the other hand, He abhors the proud and punishes them here and hereafter. God on the account of pride turned king Nebuckadnezer to animal for seven years drove him to the forest and pardoned him, when he truly humbled himself before him.
Please don’t miss the good plans of God for your life here and hereafter on the account of pride. Humble yourself and be obedient to Him. Please learn from Nebuckadnezer, don’t a,low bad history to repeat itself in your life. The good Lord shall help you in Jesus name.
Daniel 4:28-37. All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar. At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon. The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? While the word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will. The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws. And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou? At the same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added unto me. Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to abase.
Dearly beloved, Jesus Christ our Lord is the epitome of biblical humility. So He commanded all believers of all ages and you in particular to learn this priceless virtue from Him.
Matthew 11:29. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
It is impossible to exhaust His exemplary lifestyle of humility from the scriptures. But then see some of them.
Matthew 12:19:-20. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory.
Matthew 21:5: Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
Matthew 26:39: And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.
Matthew 26:42: He went away again the second time, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.
John 4:34: Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.
Philippians 2:5-8. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Hebrews 5:8: Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;
Hebrews 10:7 -9. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
So, it is mandatory as His true follower to emulate and showcase this gracious virtue in your own life too.
1 Peter 2:21 -23. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Our beloved apostle Paul was addicted to following His master in this gracious lifestyle. Do sane.
2 Corinthians 10:1: Now I Paul myself beseech you by the meekness and gentleness of Christ, who in presence am base among you, but being absent am bold toward you:
The reason why humility is mandatory for you is because of its blessings here and hereafter. On the other hand pride has its consequence here and hereafter. See it yourself.
Luke 14:11: For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
See examples and avoid it. Let it not repeat itself in your life, it shall not in Jesus name.
The Pharisee:
Luke 18:10-14. Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Herod:
Acts 12:20-23. And Herod was highly displeased with them of Tyre and Sidon: but they came with one accord to him, and, having made Blastus the king’s chamberlain their friend, desired peace; because their country was nourished by the king’s country. And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them. And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man. And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.
Please be himself like Jesus your Lord. It is well with you in Jesus name. Happy new month.
JESUS’S EXEMPLARY LIFESTYLE OF BIBLICAL HUMILITY, FOLLOW HIS EXAMPLE.
Friend, you do not have any doubt that the rapture is already dawning. It is also an established fact that you want to be part of it. God shall grant your earnest desire in Jesus name.
Please remember this, don’t ever forget. The heaven you want to go was the place lucifer the son of the morning was driven out on the account of pride. He and his demons are now consigned to hell. See it.
Isaiah 14:12-15. How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
Beltshazar the son of Nebuckadnezer the king was killed, lost the empire to others and sent to hell on the account of pride.
Daniel 5:18-28. O thou king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honour: And for the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down. But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him: And he was driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will. And thou his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all this; But hast lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver, and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know: and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou not glorified: Then was the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written. And this is the writing that was written, mene, mene, tekel, upharsin. This is the interpretation of the thing: mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and finished it. tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting. peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
Any proud person shall not be part of the rapture nor live with Christ in heaven.
Isaiah 2:11: The lofty looks of man shall be humbled, and the haughtiness of men shall be bowed down, and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
Isaiah 2:17: And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.
So, because you are desirous of partaking in the rapture and live with Jesus in eternity. Biblical humility after the order of Christ then must be your compulsory lifestyle. Don’t ever forget.
James 4:6. But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
1 Peter 5:5-6. Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Isaiah 57:15. For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
Receive grace to be humble like Christ till He comes in Jesus name.
