Matthew 6:9-13. After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Beloved, Israel missed the best of God,  because they failed woefully to honour Him as their  Father.  See it.

Malachi 1:6-8 A son honoureth his father, and a servant his master:if then I be a father, where is mine honour? and if I be a master, where is my fear? saith the Lord of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name? Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar;and ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of the Lord is contemptible. And if ye offer the blind for sacrifice, is it not evil? and if ye offer the lame and sick, is it not evil? offer it now unto thy governor;  will he be pleased with thee, or accept thy person? saith the Lord of hosts.

Isa 1:2Isa 1:4  Hear, O heavens, and give ear, O earth: for the Lord hath spoken, I have nourished and brought up children, and they have rebelled against me. The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master’s crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.

Ah sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a seed of evildoers, children that are corrupters: they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked the Holy One of Israel unto anger,  they are gone away backward.

1 Samuel 2:30

Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I said indeed that thy house, and the house of thy father, should walk before me for ever: but now the Lord saith, Be it far from me; for them that honour me I will honour, and they that despise me shall be lightly esteemed.
Beloved, to avert the woes and avoidable sufferings of these people,  realise God is your Father and always  give Him honour due to Him. Love Him and seek Him.

Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

To help you avert this shameful lifestyle,  commit yourself determinedly to the practice of the teachings on prayer as taught by Jesus Christ our Lord.  It shall be well with you in Jesus name. See it.

Amen.

Dearly beloved, it is suprising  to see nominal churchgoers turn the teachings of our Lord on the pattern and practice of prayer to meaningless recitation.  Remember Jesus was the teacher that came from God.  He also was the prophesied Prophet whose word is final.

Jn 3:1Jn 3:2 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.

Act 3:20Act 3:23 And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.

Our Lord informed all His followers of all ages, praise God, you are one of them.  He told them, they have not just God in heaven but a loving Father.  See it yourself.

John 20:17. Jesus saith unto her, Touch me not; for I am not yet ascended to my Father: but go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

He taught them to pray unto Him as He Himself used to do. In addition,  He taught them to pray to Him,  in His name.  See how Jesus our Lord,  use to pray.

John 17:1  These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:

John 17:5

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

John 17:11

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.

John 17:24

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me: for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.
Jesus our Lord,  never used the word God while praying but Father.  This pattern and practice are the things He taught all His followers of all ages.  But then, while praying to the Father,  you must pray through His name. See it yourself.

John 16:23-24. And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.

Dearly beloved,  see the all encompassing pattern and practice of prayer ,He taught for your use.

Amen.

You are not to recite it as others and nominal churchgoers do,  but it is to guide you on how to pray and what you should be praying for as heaven bound saints. See the pattern and practice.

1.Matthew 6:9  After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Vs 9, You have a Father in heaven that deserve your worship and reverence, because He is the only reverend.. No mortal man can be reverend apart from God the Father.

Psalms 111:9. He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

Never ever claim to be worshipping God, when you flagrantly disobey His word. It is a waste of time. God honours His words more than any name you use in worship.

Psalms 138:2. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.

The only way to reverence God is to have reverential  fear for Him and obey His words implicitly.

Luke 12:5. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Heb 12:28Heb 12:29

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.

Jeremiah 5:22

Fear ye not me? saith the Lord: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?

2.  Matthew 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Vs 10. Do everything with your time, talents, substance and wits to propagate the furtherance of His kingdom on earth. See the exemplary lifestyle of Jesus doing this. Follow His good example.
Be committed to doing His perfect will, if you shall eventually see Him in heaven.

Luke 2:49. And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

John 9:4

I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

John 17:4

I have glorified thee on the earth: I have  the work which thou gavest me to do.

Matthew 6:33. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

John 6:38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

Matthew 7:21. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

3. Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.

Vs 11. Looking heavenward alone for your wellbeing.

Psalms 62:5. My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

Psalms 121:1-2 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

Matthew 14:17-19. And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, Bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.

4.  Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Vs 12.  God’s  conditional pathway to eternal fellowship.  Forgive others to secure His forgiveness.

Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

5. Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

Vs 13.  Solely dependent on God for lifelong preservation and protection and sincere gratitude for ceaseless undeserved benefits.

Psalms 121:8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.

Isaiah 26:3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

Isaiah 27:3. I the Lord do keep it; I will water it every moment: lest any hurt it, I will keep it night and day.

Psalms 103:1-2. Bless the Lord, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

Lamentations 3:22-23. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.  They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.

What are you going to do with this exposition?  Be committed to practising them conscientiously,  if in deed you want to be part of the dawning rapture.  May the good Lord help you to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Luke 10:37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.

Exodus 24:7 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that the Lord hath said will we do, and be obedient.

1. Matthew 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Be committed to propagating and furtherance of the gospel.

Daniel 12:3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.

2. Matthew 6:10  Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Doing His will is mandatory, not optional.

Matthew 7:21-23. Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

3. Matthew 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Avoid being a murderer. Your refusal to forgive others makes you a murderer destined for damnation. You shall not be damned.

Matthew 6:14-15 For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

1 John 3:15 Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
