Great peace have they which love thy law and instruction: and nothing shall offend them [ no occasion of stumbling ] . - Psalms 119:165

Great peace have they which love thy law and instruction: and nothing shall offend them [ no occasion of stumbling ] . – Psalms 119:165

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. – Psalms 119:165

Dearly beloved brethren, our Lord through His teachings and lifestyle, taught all His faithful followers, including you to do, everything to avoid offenses.

Mat 17:27 Notwithstanding, lest we should offend them, go thou to the sea, and cast an hook, and take up the fish that first cometh up; and when thou hast opened his mouth, thou shalt find a piece of money: that take, and give unto them for me and thee.

The reason why you should avoid offenses, is because of His implications and consequences. See the following scriptures.

1. Implication of offenses.

Mat 18:6 whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Offenses could mislead young converts and those believers that are not grounded in God’s words.

2. Consequence of offenses.

Anyone who cause the offense are cursed according to the scriptures.

Mat 18:7. Woe unto the world because of offences! for it must needs be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence cometh!
Luk 17:1 — Luk 17:2 Then said he unto the disciples, It is impossible but that offences will come: but woe unto him, through whom they come! 2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. – Psalms 119:165

The blessed Holy Spirit further exhorted, that believers should avoid offenses. See the following scriptures.

1Co 10:32 Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God:
2Co 6:3 Giving no offence in any thing, that the ministry be not blamed:

The only way Bible believing believes can avoid offenses, is their great love for the unfailing, unchanging, eternal words of God and their addictions to be obedient to doing what it says.

Such believers who are living lifestyle of obedience to God’s words will find it easy never to be offended by anything and everything others are doing.

This was seeing in the life of our Lord, after all that were done against Him, He. Prayed for His persecutors.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

Stephen did, the same thing, as he was been stoned.

Acts 7:59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 7:60 And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Abraham did the same thing. He was not offended by the attitude of Lot.

Gen 13:7 — Gen 13:12 And there was a strife between the herdmen of Abram’s cattle and the herdmen of Lot’s cattle: and the Canaanite and the Perizzite dwelled then in the land. 8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. 9 Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. 10 And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. 12 Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom.

David did the same thing, He was not offended by cruelty of his persecutors.

Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. – Psalms 119:165

You also must be doing the same thing till Jesus comes and God shall make your adversaries to be at peace with you in Jesus mighty name.

Pro 16:7 When a man’s ways please the Lord,he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them. – Psalms 119:165
