Beloved the Bible reveals one all important attribute of your loving Father in heaven that you must embrace as a lifestyle. See it.
1Jo 1:5 — 1Jo 1:7 This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
In the same token, just like your loving Father in heaven is light. Jesus Christ our Lord and savior, Himself is the light personified.
John 8:12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
Jn 9:5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
Jn 12:46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness
Because believers of all ages and you in particular are sons of God, you are referred to as light in the world. A light that must be shinning for others to see.
Mat 5:14 — Mat 5:16 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Philippians 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Beloved, your full understanding of the above statements will help you to appreciate and embrace the wisdom of God in dividing the light from darkness, right from the outset.
Gen 1:3 — Gen 1:4 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
The Bible God’s written wisdom in print , says what God hath joined together, let no man put asunder.
In the same token however, what God hath put asunder, let no man join together.
God by His wisdom from the very outset, divided the light from darkness.
Gen 1:3 — Gen 1:4 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
What does this mean?
It means sons of God that are children of the light must as s matter of compulsion, be separated from the worldings, unbelievers, that are children of disobedience and unfruitful works of darkness.
Beloved, the Bible refers to believers as the children of light and peculiar people. See it yourself.
1Th 5:5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Eph 5:8 For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
2Co 4:6 For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
Exo 19:5 — Exo 19:6 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
In addition they are people who have received the gospel and have turned from darkness to light.
Act 26:18 To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.
Beloved, I am persuaded you have turned from darkness to light. This alone is what makes you a biblical believer.
In the same token, the worldlings and unbelievers are described as children of disobedience and wrath. unfruitful works of darkness.
The Bible says their eyes are full of adultery, cursed children and are lost.. See them.
Eph 2:1 — Eph 2:3 And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins; Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Eph 5:11 — Eph 5:12 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
Ephesians 2:3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Ephesians 5:6 Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
2Pe 2:14 — 2Pe 2:18 Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children: Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness; But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man’s voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.
For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.
2Co 4:3 — 2Co 4:4 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Please be very sober and sincerely help yourself. Does your life has any resemblance of any of these?
I am persuaded that you should not. But if you are. Please repent immediately. Any of these things in your life position you as a worldlings and unbeliever before God.
May the Lord help you to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
Beloved as far back from the old testament, God has been calling the saints to be separated from sinners. He has been calling believers to be separated from unbelievers. See it yourself.
Isaiah 2:5 O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the Lord.
Isa 52:11 Depart ye, depart ye, go ye out from thence, touch no unclean thing;go ye out of the midst of her; be ye clean, that bear the vessels of the Lord.
Exodus 23:2 Thou shalt not follow a multitude to do evil; neither shalt thou speak in a cause to decline after many to wrest judgment:
But then it is reinforced strongly in the new restaurant in divers biblical languages. See them.
2Co 6:14 — 2Co 6:18 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Eph 5:11 — Eph 5:12 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
1Co 5:9 — 1Co 5:11 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.
James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world
James 4:4 Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
Rom 12:1 — Rom 12:2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
1Jo 2:15 — 1Jo 2:17 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
Rom 16:17 — Rom 16:18 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
2Jo 1:8 — 2Jo 1:11 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.
Eph 4:17 — Eph 4:24 This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart: Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
Beloved, the Bible reveals the essence of this call to separation, because of the negative influence , associating with the worldings might have on the believers. See some of them.
1. Turn you away from God.
Deu 7:1 — Deu 7:4 When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou; And when the Lord thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them: Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son. For they will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the Lord be kindled against you, and destroy thee suddenly.
2. Make you loose your savour, your priced spiritual virtues and nature.
Mat 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Beloved, the Bible reveals that God does not want you in particular to learn the ways of the unbelievers.
Deu 18:9 When thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
The Bible also reveals that unbelievers among your family members and those outside shall hate you and even be fighting you.
When you experience this hostility, don’t be surprised. It is the common lots of biblical believers.
Jn 3:19 — Jn 3:21 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
Jn 17:14 — Jn 17:16 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Jn 15:18 — Jn 15:19 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.
Beloved, see the testimony of our Lord Jesus Christ on John the Baptist.
John 5:35 He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
If our Lord shall testify of you too. What will He say? Would He place you in the categories of a biblical believer or unbeliever?
Remember any vice or nature of a unbeliever in your life disqualifies you from heaven. So deal with such vices now.
Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.
