Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | September 13, 2019 | Enrich and Sustain your relationship with Jesus reading our daily devotional – For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]. – 2 Timothy 1:7.
Beloved, glory to God for His determined purpose to give His Spirit of power to His children of all ages. Praise. God, you are one. He wants to do this , because without His Holy Spirit they will not be able to do much.
Zechariah 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts.
So He gave unchanging promises in both old and new testaments to give His saints and believers promised power.
Joel 2:28 — Joe 2:29. And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.
Act 2:37 — Act 2:38. Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
But then for His children of all ages to access and possess this Spirit, they must earnestly thirst for it.
Isaiah 44:3. For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and floods upon the dry ground: I will pour my spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
Not only will they thirst , they also must be willing to pay the requisites price. These prices are:
1. Biblical salvation
Ezekiel 36:25. Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.
This becomes necessary because, sinners inside or outside the church, can not receive.
Jn 14:17. Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
2. Purity of heart and life
Ezekiel 36:26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
This becomes necessary because the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of holiness.
Romans 1:4. And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
After which the promised promised power shall come upon you.
Ezekiel 36:27. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
The Spirit of God in your life shall help you fulfill your God’s glorious Destiny. See some instances :
Spirit of God brought Joseph to unusual exaltation.
Gen 41:38 — Gen 41:41. And Pharaoh said unto his servants, Can we find such a one as this is, a man in whom the Spirit of God is? And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art: Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.
Daniel in Babylon became prime minister.
Dan 6:1 — Dan 6:3. It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the whole kingdom; And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage. Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
You are the next person to be exalted. Seek and possess the promised power , God is prepared to give you if you are willing to pay the price. But then it is worthwhile. So pursue and possess it.n

Dearly beloved, during the earthly ministry of our Lord . He functioned
absolutely through the power of the Holy Spirit. Before age thirty He was in obscurity.
But after He was baptism at River Jordan, He was announced to the world.
Mat 3:16 — Mat 3:17. And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: And lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
Luke 4:14. And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.
Luke 4:18. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,
Acts 10:38. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.
Our Lord promised believers of all ages and you in particular, that through same power they will do more. See it. .
John 14:12. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
So He encouraged them to wait for the power. To help you to receive this power, you shall need to tarry in prayers.
Luke 24:49. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.
Act 1:4 — Act 1:5. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.
Acts 1:8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
The blessed Holy Spirit willing to assure you of the determined promise of the Father , encouraged them through this exhortation . See it.

See His first fulfillment on Bible days believers
Act 2:1 — Act 2:4. And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
See what they do with the power. You are not exempted from doing same, so pursue it and possess it.
Peter
Act 5:14 — Act 5:16. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.) Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Paul
Rom 15:19. Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
Remember, the world is expecting your manifestation.
Rom 8:19. For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God
Friend, God shall surely help you in particular to be participate in the dawning rapture in Jesus name. But then if you are going to enjoy God for all eternity with glorious eternal rewards, you need His power.
2 Timothy 1:7. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Jesus our Lord after the rapture during the marriage supper, shall give rewards to everyone who labours for Him with His promised power.
Col 3:23 — Col 3:24. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ
See some of these glorious rewards awaiting us for labouring for Him, through His promised power.
Daniel 12:3. And they that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
2Ti 4:7 — 2Ti 4:8. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.
1Pe 5:1 — 1Pe 5:4. The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind; Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.
So be encouraged to receive His promised power and labour to expand His kingdom on earth.
1 Corinthians 15:58. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
