Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | May 18, 2020 | Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee – 1 Kings 3:5.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people? – 1 Kings 3:9
Beloved, it is praiseworthy to know that you are a wise person. I pray for you that here and hereafter, the wisdom of God shall benefit you in particular immensely in Jesus name.
Pro 9:12. If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself:but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
One thing that will help you sustain your lifestyle of being a wise person, is to addict yourself to doing the sayings of Christ, till He comes.
Mat 7:24 — Mat 7:27. Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
One thing is most certain. If you in particular addict yourself to the sayings of Jesus, you shall surely end up as one of the wise virgins in the parable of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Mat 25:6 — Mat 25:13. And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
Beloved wise believers like you pursue just one thing. Just one goal.
Eternal things. See how the scriptures reveal classified one things you must pursue.
1. Dwelling in the house of God forever in yonder.
Psalms 27:4. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.
Psalms 23:6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
2. Lifetime Fellowship with Christ
Luk 10:41 — Luk 10:42. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
3. Your eternal wellbeing.
Deuteronomy 32:29. O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
Proverbs 19:20. Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
4. Readiness for the dawning rapture.
Col 3:1 — Col 3:4. If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
5.. Avoiding the dreadful great tribulation.
Rev 3:10 — Rev 3:11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.
6. Giving priority to God in all things.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
7. Making a right choice before God at all times.
1 Kings 3:5. In Gibeon the LORD appeared to Solomon in a dream by night: and God said, Ask what I shall give thee.
1 Kings 3:9 Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
Beloved, if you are addicted to pursuing any or all of the above things. Then it becomes very easy to receive incredible and great things from God.
Just like King Solomon got much more from God, you also shall experience same as you pursue eternal things first.
1 Kings 3:12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee.
1 Kings 3:13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days
Always remember to addict yourself to doing all things from the perspective of eternity and giving priority to eternal things in your pursuit for self actualization .
Be addicted like these saints.
1Co 16:15. I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)
Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad – 1 Kings 3:9
