Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34
Dearly beloved brethren, let us determindly apply the principles of the scriptures. Then it will be very easy to get our prayers answered.
Either in the old or new testaments, if God will grant any request of anyone, it must align with the scriptures and His perfect will See this.
1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
This principle was what king David applied here to get God to give him understanding of the law, which was the desire of his heart.
Either in the old or new testaments, God had commanded His people, to love and serve Him, with their whole heart. See them.
Deuteronomy 6:4-5 Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD: And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deuteronomy 10:12 And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul,
Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34
Jesus Christ our Lord, emphasized same in the new testament.
Mark 12:28-33 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices.
Now king David promised God that, he would observe his words with his whole heart, if God would give him understanding of the law.
Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34
See the whole heart re emphasized.
Psalms 119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

Give me understanding, and I shall keep thy law, your instructions, laws and observe your ways.; yea, I shall observe it with my whole heart – Psalms 119:34
No doubt, God is the giver of understanding and wisdom.
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Beloved follow this principle of the scriptures. Always ensure what you wanted from God align with His revealed perfect will in the scriptures.
Then like God gave king David understanding of the law, He shall grant your own requests too, according to His words in Jesus name.
