For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. – Romans 12:4-5
Dearly beloved brethren, the blessed Holy Spirit here reveals to all the Bible believing believers of all ages and that includes you, the importance of the illustration of the body with its members
This was done, to set forth the mutual dependence of each members of the Church with each other and how their several gifts and functions, can be used for the well-being of the whole church.
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. – Romans 12:4-5
1 Corinthians 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.
Beloved brethren, Christ Jesus our Lord, is the head of the church.
Christ is regarded, as the exalted Head over the Church which is his body.
Ephesians 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 4:16 From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
Ephesians 5:23 For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. 5:30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. – Romans 12:4-5
However, the head is not thus separated from the rest of the body the whole is “one body in Christ,”
Beloved brethren, no one of the body of Christ, can be a a lone ranger. None can function individually without working together with the rest of the bodies.
1 Corinthians 12:14 For the body is not one member, but many. 12:15 If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 12:16 And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? 12:17 If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? 12:18 But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. 12:19 And if they were all one member, where were the body? 12:20 But now are they many members, yet but one body. 12:21 And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you. 12:22 Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more feeble, are necessary: 12:23 And those members of the body, which we think to be less honourable, upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. 12:24 For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the body together, having given more abundant honour to that part which lacked: 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 12:26 And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Dearly beloved brethren, to help you to function effectively, and be fulfilled, you must as a matter of compulsion, join with the others in the body of Christ.
Hebrews 10:25
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. – Romans 12:4-5
The good Lord shall help you to be fulfilled as you join with others in the body of Christ and use your gifts for the furtherance of Christ kingdom.
