Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. And they came into the country of Moab, and continued there. And Elimelech Naomi’s husband died; and she was left, and her two sons. And they took them wives of the women of Moab; the name of the one was Orpah, and the name of the other Ruth: and they dwelled there about ten years. And Mahlon and Chilion died also both of them; and the woman was left of her two sons and her husband. – Ruth 1:1-5

Beloved, most times, we blame the government of our nation’s for numerous uncompleted projects.

As you look around you , you also see uncompleted houses here and there.

You might have seen your colleagues who are unable to complete their education.

It is because of this, that I pray for you with all my heart, that grace for completion shall be your portion in Jesus name.

There is something very very important that you have begun that you must complete. It is your journey to life eternal.

Because our Lord saw the inadequacies of multitude inside or outside the church, who presently are languishing in hell. He gave this timely and very important admonitions. See them yourself.

Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.

These admonitions becomes necessary, because of the reality of life.

This life is not and will never ever be a fun fare but a warfare. See the following scriptures.

1. Either you are a believer or an unbeliever, you shall experience different seasons in life. i.e, time for celebration of new born babies time for weeping of the dead young or old.

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

2. Both the old and new testaments affirmed that for believers or unbelievers alike, on this side of heaven , there shall be time for troubles and challenges.

Job 5:6 — Job 5:7 Although affliction cometh not forth of the dust, neither doth trouble spring out of the ground; Yet man is born unto trouble, as the sparks fly upward.

1Pe 5:8 — 1Pe 5:10 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.

Praise God you have a wonderful and compassionate Redeemer and Savior , who informed and encouraged you that, when you sincerely and wholeheartedly receive Him as your Lord and Savior, you shall experience persecutions.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Mat 5:11 — Mat 5:12 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Beloved, it is very very painful that when children of God faces temporal challenges, that the Bible refers to as our light afflictions, they depart from the Lord and also depart from the truth, they have stood upon in the time past.

2Co 4:17 — 2Co 4:18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Rth 1:1 — Rth 1:5 Now it came to pass in the days when the judges ruled, that there was a famine in the land. And a certain man of Bethlehemjudah went to sojourn in the country of Moab, he, and his wife, and his two sons. And the name of the man was Elimelech, and the name of his wife Naomi, and the name of his two sons Mahlon and Chilion, Ephrathites of Bethlehemjudah. This family because there was famine in Judah, left for greener pastures in Moab, a cursed nation.

It was food they lacked among God’s people, however, when they relocated to the cursed nation, the man and the two sons died.

Learn a lesson here, before you relocate from your God given nation to another on account of greener pastures, check up with God, because, you might just be digging your untimely death.

Many people in our own contemporary time have experienced same, please be very careful.

Very very unfortunately, for this people that left to the godless nation, God brought an end to the famine. And then , the wife of the man , having lost his husband and two sons, decided to come back to Judah.

Ruth 1:6 Then she arose with her daughters in law, that she might return from the country of Moab: for she had heard in the country of Moab how that the Lord had visited his people in giving them bread.

Beloved, many believers who have stood in the truth of God’s word in the time past when their was no challenges are departing from the truth, now because of temporal light afflictions.

Some who believed in God’s will for marriage, now because of difficulty, have divorced their spouse and remarried and they are justifying why they took the ungodly decision.

See what the scriptures says about them from both old and new testaments.

1Ti 4:1 — 1Ti 4:2. Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

2Th 2:3 — 2Th 2:4 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Jeremiah 2:13 For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water.

Hosea 8:3 Israel hath cast off the thing that is good: the enemy shall pursue him.

Isa 30:1 — Isa 30:3 Woe to the rebellious children, saith the Lord, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin: That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt! Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.

Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Isaiah 31:3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

Jer 2:17 — Jer 2: 19 Hast thou not procured this unto thyself, in that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, when he led thee by the way? And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river? Thine own wickedness shall correct thee, and thy backslidings shall reprove thee: know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the Lord thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord God of hosts.

Beloved, one of such brethren was Demas, a colabourer with Paul apostle. He is presently suffering in hell.

2 Timothy 4:10 For Demas hath forsaken me, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.

But then , before you pass judgement on these people in Bible days,. examine yourself, have you too, not being caught in the same web?

Are you still living by one man one wife. Now because of business pursuit, have you not dropped your convictions on worldliness , on godly business practices?

2 Corinthians 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?

Beloved, the brethren like you that shall avert this shameful lifestyle and live with God for all eternity, see what you must do.

You must never ever look back , despite difficulties on your journey to life eternal. Receive grace to do so in Jesus name.

Heb 11:14 — Heb 11:16 For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. And truly, if they had been mindful of that country from whence they came out, they might have had opportunity to have returned. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.
