Philippians 4:15-17. Now ye Philippians know also, that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church communicated with me as concerning giving and receiving, but ye only. For even in Thessalonica ye sent once and again unto my necessity. Not because I desire a gift: but I desire fruit that may abound to your account.
Beloved, by the grace of God, you have been made to be wise. Please live wisely.,
Proverbs 9:12. If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.
Don’t fall a victim of the attitude of the Worldling who continually missed the best of God, because they could not discern the ways of God and failed to submit themselves to the guidance of God
Romans 8:5-9. For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.
1 Corinthians 2:14. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Beloved, follow the unusual example of God your loving Father in heaven and be profited like Him. From eternity past, He had one begotten Son. Presently and in eternity future , your Father desired to still have His only begotten Son, with innumerable beloved sons. So , He temporarily sowed His only begotten Son, to sustain Him and multiply beloved sons to Himself. See it.
John 3:16. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
Hebrews 2:9-10. But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
1 John 3:1. Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
John 1:12. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Beloved, if you desire to abound in earthly and eternal fruits and inexplainable blessings to your account on this side of heaven for your benefit now and at the other side for all eternity.
Then receive God’s grace to be a cheerful giver after the other of God of heaven. Give bountifully to advance the kingdom of Christ, give cheerfully to any minister that is edifying your spiritual life, like the Philippians or their church at Macedonia, were given to Paul apostle and also give to the poor to support them. One major way for you to be mightily blessed by God on this side of heaven and also at eternity is by being a cheerful and tireless gracious giver. See God’s words and be wise.
Proverbs 3:9-10 Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.
Hebrews 6:10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Proverbs 11:24-25. There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
Proverbs 3:27-28. Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do it. Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and to morrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee.
Deuteronomy 15:7-8. If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth.
Psalms 112:9. He hath dispersed, he hath given to the poor; his righteousness endureth for ever; his horn shall be exalted with honour.
Proverbs 19:17. He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Proverbs 22:9. He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
Proverbs 28:27. He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
Beloved, no doubt God shall supply the needs of His people and your own in particular. But check all the entire epistles that Paul wrote. It was only the Macedonia church, he blessed with this benediction, that God shall supply their needs according to His riches in glory, through Jesus Christ.
Philippians 4:19. But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
He deliberately did this, because they were the only church supporting His ministry cheerfully. Please follow the good example of this church. Support the ministry God has called you into. Support ministers that God is using to bless you spiritually. Support the poor and bring joy to their lives.
This way you shall abound fruits in to your accounts now and at eternity. May the good Lord help you to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name. See it yourself and embrace it.
2 Corinthians 8:1-5. Moreover, brethren, we do you to wit of the grace of God bestowed on the churches of Macedonia; How that in a great trial of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality. For to their power, I bear record, yea, and beyond their power they were willing of themselves; Praying us with much intreaty that we would receive the gift, and take upon us the fellowship of the ministering to the saints. And this they did, not as we hoped, but first gave their own selves to the Lord, and unto us by the will of God.
Dearly beloved, there is one exemplary lifestyle you should learn and imbibe from Christ our Lord.. He did what He taught.
Acts 1:1. The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
1 Peter 2:21. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
If you are going to be reckoned with in heaven and receive great rewards, you too must be doing what you are teaching your children, members of your family or in your respective ministries.
Matthew 5:19. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Jesus our Lord willingly gave His life as a ransom, for you in particular and others to be saved.
John 10:11. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.
John 15:13. Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
He went further to teach His bible days believers and believers of all ages, which includes you, to live a lifestyle of cheerful giving. Don’t ever forget this. It is through giving that God will bountifully bless you here now and reward you at eternity. Give to advance His kingdom on earth. Give to the saints and ministers through which God is blessing your spiritual life. Also give to the poor for His sake.
Matthew 10:42. And whosoever shall give to drink unto one of these little ones a cup of cold water only in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in no wise lose his reward.
Luke 6:38. Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 10:25-37. And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live. But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side. But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him. And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee. Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves? And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
The blessed Holy Spirit who knows the blessedness of giving and receiving in abounding fruits to saints on this side of heaven and at eternity, inspired apostle Paul to encourage them and you in particular, to imbibe the lifestyle of cheerful giving. See it.
Dearly beloved, because of the immense profit derivable to saints for cultivating this attitude, several scriptures affirmed this truth and encourage believers of all ages, including you to do same. See them.
Galatians 6:7-10. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Acts 20:35. I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive..
2 Corinthians 9:6-9. But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: (As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.
1 Timothy 6:17-19. Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
James 2:14-17. What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
1 John 3:16-18. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Receive grace to be obedient to this all important godly counsel and become a cheerful giver and be blessed now and at eternity in Jesus name.
Friend, if in deed you believe in the doctrine of the rapture of the saints, that is already dawning, then you must validate your preparedness by committing yourself to a lifestyle of cheerful giving.
If you really take the words of our Lord Jesus Christ very seriously and you don’t want us to be searching for you, when the saints are gathering in yonder with our Lord, then receive grace now to be a cheerful giver.
Sowing and reaping or giving and receiving must be a lifestyle you must determinedly cultivate till Christ comes.
Our Lord Jesus Christ said in the Bible, that believers of all ages, which must not exclude you that shall live with Him for all eternity are only cheerful givers. See it yourself.
Matthew 25:31-46. When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory: And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats: And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee? Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.
May the good Lord help you to receive grace to be doer of this eternity requisite lifestyle in Jesus name.
