CLCBC | Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | Matthew 7:3 – Why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eyes

Beloved, do you know that God’s words are eternal decrees?

Acts 16:4 And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.

It is important for you to know that God, your loving Father in heaven, have some dreadful unchanging decrees. See some of them.

Psalms 7:11. God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Psalms 9:17. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.

Job 15:34. For the congregation of hypocrites shall be desolate, and fire shall consume the tabernacles of bribery.

Isaiah 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid;fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

Beloved, you are aware that your Father in heaven does not tolerate sin, from sinning churchgoers or the licentious Worldling.

Habakkuk 1:13. Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity: wherefore lookest thou upon them that deal treacherously, and holdest thy tongue when the wicked devoureth the man that is more righteous than he?

God loathe all sins generally, but there is one particular iniquity that, He can not tolerate from anyone and everyone. Even if that person is a pastor,,bishop, apostle or a man after God’s heart, like King David. See how God dealt with David, when he committed hypocritical sin.

2 Samuel 11:26-27. And when the wife of Uriah heard that Uriah her husband was dead, she mourned for her husband. And when the mourning was past, David sent and fetched her to his house, and she became his wife, and bare him a son. But the thing that David had done displeased the Lord.

2 Samuel 12:1- 12 And the Lord sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds: But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the Lord liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die: He shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity. Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul; I gave thee thy master’s house, and thy master’s wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the Lord, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. Thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun.

Beloved, see what He said, He will do with anyone committing hypocrisy.

Psalms 50:16 -21. But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. you sit and speak against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother’s son. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; also you thought that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.

Today, insincerity, hypocrisy and deception characterise the lifestyle of those who profess to be Christian.
I sincerely hope you are not one of them. God unchanging decree for an hypocrite either in the old or new testaments is damnation inside devouring fire. This shall not be your portion in Jesus name. But make sure you are not an hypocrite.

Isaiah 33:14 The sinners in Zion are afraid;fearfulness hath surprised the hypocrites.Who among us shall dwell with the devouring fire? who among us shall dwell with everlasting burnings?

No wonder when our Lord Jesus Christ began His earthly ministry, He taught His followers then and believers of all ages and that includes you, on principles through which, they can avert the consequence of hypocrisy. See it and heed it and it shall be well with you in Jesus name.

Matt 7:3-5. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Dearly beloved, you know quiet well that our Lord is the truth personified,

John 14:6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He has been of old and He knows the truth, through and through. He is aware that, the consequence of hypocrisy is very devastating . However, He is determined, that none of His followers, especially you, shall fall a victim of this sin of hypocrisy. You shall not fall into the sin in Jesus name. See the consequence.

Matt. 23:29-33. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous, And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets. Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. Fill ye up then the measure of your fathers. Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

It is to help you avert this severe fearsome consequence, that made Him to teach believers of all ages and you in particular, oh the unfailing biblical principles through which you shall avert the consequence. You shall avert it, in Jesus name. See it.

Vs. 3-5.

Luke 6:41-42. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother’s eye, but perceivest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother’s eye.

But then, how do you know an hypocrite? If you are one, how can you discover it in your life? See the examples Jesus gave.

Matt 23:25-28. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess. Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also. Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

Dearly beloved, see examples of hypocrites and churchgoers.

John 8:3-10. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?

Luke 18:9-12. And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

Romans 2:1-3. Therefore thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoever thou art that judgest: for wherein thou judgest another, thou condemnest thyself; for thou that judgest doest the same things. But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things. And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?

Luke 13:14-15. And the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because that Jesus had healed on the sabbath day, and said unto the people, There are six days in which men ought to work: in them therefore come and be healed, and not on the sabbath day. The Lord then answered him, and said, Thou hypocrite, doth not each one of you on the sabbath loose his ox or his ass from the stall, and lead him away to watering?

To be presumptuous at the dying hour of the end time like this, is very very dangerous. Please examine yourself whether you are an hypocrite? Check up. I am persuaded that you are not, but if you are, repent immediately.

2 Chronicles 7:14. If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

JESUS UNFAILING BIBLICAL PRINCIPLES TO KEEP BELIEVERS OF ALL AGES AND YOU IN PARTICULAR, FROM HYPOCRISY AND ITS CONSEQUENCES.
Friend, majority of today’s believers who profess to be preparing for the dawning rapture,
have fallen into hypocritical lifestyle. They are no more sincere. They dined with Jesus like Judas and yet betrayed Him to be crucified.

Psalms 62:4. They only consult to cast him down from his excellency:they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

Hypocrisy and hypocritical lifestyle have swayed a lot of these churchgoers from the narrow way that leads to heaven. They hardly lived to their words. They lacked integrity. Their lives are characterised by two things.
1. They have lost their first love for Christ.

Revelation 2:4-5. Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

2. They are presently neither cold or hot and our Lord shall spued them out. You shall not be spued out in Jesus name.

Revelation 3:15-18. I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.

Shamefully, however these churchgoers are still parading themselves as ministers, workers in the church, Christian and always talk louder when a fellow brethren have slipped from the faith. No wonder, see how Jesus our Lord referred to them.
See a typical example and please examine yourself, whether you too , fall into this category. It should never be, but if it be so, repent now, because, one hour after this time might be too late.

2 Samuel 12:1-7. And the Lord sent Nathan unto David. And he came unto him, and said unto him, There were two men in one city; the one rich, and the other poor. The rich man had exceeding many flocks and herds: But the poor man had nothing, save one little ewe lamb, which he had bought and nourished up: and it grew up together with him, and with his children; it did eat of his own meat, and drank of his own cup, and lay in his bosom, and was unto him as a daughter. And there came a traveller unto the rich man, and he spared to take of his own flock and of his own herd, to dress for the wayfaring man that was come unto him; but took the poor man’s lamb, and dressed it for the man that was come to him. David’s anger was greatly kindled against the man; and he said to Nathan, As the Lord liveth, the man that hath done this thing shall surely die: He shall restore the lamb fourfold, because he did this thing, and because he had no pity. Nathan said to David, Thou art the man. Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, I anointed thee king over Israel, and I delivered thee out of the hand of Saul;

Friend, if you are not found wanting on any of these listed issues, you can be sure, that when our Lord appears in the sky you shall go with the raptured saints in Jesus name. So sustain this lifestyle. But if it is not, see the things that you must do immediately for the rapture not to elude you. It shall not elude you in Jesus name..
1. Before correcting your brethren or spouse or children or neighbours or coworkers. You must do restitution.

Matt 5:23-24. Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

2. Confess and use the precious blood of Jesus, to cleanse your sins like king David and prophet Hezekiah did.

1 John 1:8-10. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

King David,

Psalms 51:9 -13. Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Prophet Hezekiah

Isaiah 6:1-9. In the year that king Uzziah died I saw also the Lord sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled the temple. Above it stood the seraphims: each one had six wings; with twain he covered his face, and with twain he covered his feet, and with twain he did fly. And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory. And the posts of the door moved at the voice of him that cried, and the house was filled with smoke. Then said I, Woe is me! for I am undone; because I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell in the midst of a people of unclean lips: for mine eyes have seen the King, the Lord of hosts. Then flew one of the seraphims unto me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar: And he laid it upon my mouth, and said, Lo, this hath touched thy lips; and thine iniquity is taken away, and thy sin purged. Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not.

3. Then always correct your brethren in love and watch, so that, you yourself don’t fall into the snare of satan.

Galatians 6:1-2. Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

When your lifestyle is like this consistently till Christ comes, then you shall go with Him. The. good Lord shall help you in particular to live a lifestyle like this and be part of the rapture in Jesus name.
