AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:37 – Turn away my eyes from beholding vanity (idols and idolatry); and restore me to vigorous life and health in Your ways.
In addition, beloved brethren, see it amplified.
1. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity. Let me not be distracted from thy service by the “vanities” of the world—wealth, honor, power, glory, and the like; rather, quicken thou me in thy way. Give me increased life, strength, and vigor, to walk continually in the way of thy commandments.
2. Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity – An idol, worldly pleasure, beauty, finery; any thing that is vain, empty, or transitory. Let me not behold it; let me not dwell upon it. Let me remember Achan: he saw, – he coveted, – he took, – he hid his theft, and was slain for his sin.
Dearly beloved, why have I taken you in particular, through all of these?
It is because of the earthly and eternal dangers that awaits anyone and everyone, caught in this sinful lifestyle
Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity [ looking at worthless things ]; and quicken thou me in thy way. – Psalms 119:37
Look at what the Bible says shall be the lots of those living a lifestyle of vanities.
1 Timothy 5:6 But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.
Isaiah 22:13-14 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Revelation 18:7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Beloved see how the Bible describes their lifestyles, which informed why such condemnations shall come their ways. See their lifestyles yourself and check up whether you also is living such lifestyle.
Job 21:11-15 They send forth their little ones like a flock, and their children dance. They take the timbrel and harp, and rejoice at the sound of the organ. They spend their days in wealth, and in a moment go down to the grave. Therefore they say unto God, Depart from us; for we desire not the knowledge of thy ways. What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
Psalms 73:5-7 They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men. Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment. Their eyes stand out with fatness: they have more than heart could wish.
Amos 6:5-6 That chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
Luke 15:13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
Luke 12:19-20 And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
Luke 16:19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
James 5:5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter.

Beloved , please sincerely examine yourself, are you guilty of this hell bound teansgressions? Your response should be affirmative yes. But if your response is no, repent wholeheartedly, like king David, did on the issue of Uriah, the husband of Betsheba.
It was true that God forgave David, but the stigma lived with him all his life, even to the new testament. See it.
Matthew 1:6 And Jesse begat David the king; and David the king begat Solomon of her that had been the wife of Urias;
It was because of this, king David prayed that prayer ,for him not to fall into the sin again.
Achan was not as lucky as king David, he and his households were stoned and burned for this same sin. See it yourself.
Joshua 7:20-26 And Achan answered Joshua, and said, Indeed I have sinned against the LORD God of Israel, and thus and thus have I done: When I saw among the spoils a goodly Babylonish garment, and two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold of fifty shekels weight, then I coveted them, and took them; and, behold, they are hid in the earth in the midst of my tent, and the silver under it. So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran unto the tent; and, behold, it was hid in his tent, and the silver under it. And
they took them out of the midst of the tent, and brought them unto Joshua, and unto all the children of Israel, and laid them out before the LORD. And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had: and they brought them unto the valley of Achor. And Joshua said, Why hast thou troubled us? the LORD shall trouble thee this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones. And they raised over him a great heap of stones unto this day. So the LORD turned from the fierceness of his anger. Wherefore the name of that place was called, The valley of Achor, unto this day.
Beloved, the Bible exhorts you to learn from the undoing of those in Bible days and avoid it.
Romans 15:4 For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
1 Corinthians 10:11-13 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 10:12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
May the good Lord help you in particular to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.
