I will never forget thy precepts [ Commandments and laws ]: for with them thou hast quickened me [ they are life to me ]. – Psalms 119:93

Dearly beloved brethren, there is a sharp remarkable difference between a Bible believing believer and empty professor of religion.

As a Bible believing believer, the word of God according to Jesus Christ must have finality over everything you are doing. Before a decision or a step is taking on any issue, you find out what the Bible says about it.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Beloved, because you are a Bible believing believer, who attaches utmost importance to your eternal well being, obedience to the entire sayings of Christ, for you is a compulsion.

At the end of time for you the word of God shall not judge you at eternity but justify you.

Matthew 7:24-27 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 7:26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 7:27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
John 12:46-48 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. 12:48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
I will never forget thy precepts [ Commandments and laws ]: for with them thou hast quickened me [ they are life to me ]. – Psalms 119:93

On the contrary, the empty professor of religion has no regard for God’s eternal words, when taking decision on anything.

The sayings of Christ are despised and rejected by them, so at the end of time at eternity, the unchanging words judge and damned them.

This shall not be your portion in Jesus name.

It was for this reason that king David took a firm resolution, never ever to forget or trivialise the eternal unchanging words of God. See his resolution.

I will never forget thy precepts [ Commandments and laws ]: for with them thou hast quickened me [ they are life to me ]. – Psalms 119:93

See this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:93 I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:93 I will never forget Your precepts, [how can I?] for it is by them You have quickened me (granted me life).

See this scripture amplified .

Here is, 1. A very good resolution: “I will never forget thy precepts, but will always retain a remembrance of and regard to thy word as my rule.” It is a resolution for perpetuity, never to be altered. Note, The best evidence of our love to the word of God is never to forget it. We must resolve that we will never, at any time, cast off our religion, and never, upon any occasion, lay aside our religion, but that we will be constant to it and persevere in it. 2. A very good reason for it: “For by them thou hast quickened me; not only they are quickening, but,” (1.) “They have been so to me; I have found them so.” Those speak best of the things of God who speak by experience, who can say that by the word the spiritual life has been begun in them, maintained and strengthened in them, excited and comforted in them.

I will never forget thy precepts [ Commandments and laws ]: for with them thou hast quickened me [ they are life to me ]. – Psalms 119:93

Beloved see his resolution on God’s unfailing unchanging words affirmed by additional scriptures.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Psalms 119:61 The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.
Psalms 119:83 For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.

No wonder God’s eternal words blessed him. The words provided him guidance, courage and strength in difficult times.

Psalms 119:50 This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.

Beloved the Bible says, you should follow what is good. So commit yourself to doing what Jesus our Lord said you should be doing with the entirety of God’s eternal words and His sayings and be blessed through your implicit obedience, like king David.

3 John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
I will never forget thy precepts [ Commandments and laws ]: for with them thou hast quickened me [ they are life to me ]. – Psalms 119:93

Unless thy law [ instruction, commandment and decree ] had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. – Psalms 119:92

Dearly beloved brethren, the. only one thing, that, kept the saints of old and believers in Bible days in their afflictions for the cause of God, was their deep and inexplainable love for God, for Jesus and the eternal, unchanging, unfailing words of God in the Bible.

See the following scriptures.

John 6:66-69 From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. 6:67 Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. 6:69 And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.
Romans 8:35-39 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
Hebrews 11:35-37 Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 11:36 And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: 11:37 They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented;
1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Unless thy law [ instruction, commandment and decree ] had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. – Psalms 119:92

Our ever loving Lord has informed Bible believing believers of all ages and you in particular, that, this shall be your lots for His sake.

Matthew 5:10-12 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
John 17:14-15 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.
Philippians 1:29 For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for his sake;
Unless thy law [ instruction, commandment and decree ] had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. – Psalms 119:92

Beloved, when you see anyone who profess religion, departing from the faith, because of challenges, that the Bible refers to as common temptation and light afflictions.

It is because such people do not have enough love for God and Christ and His all sufficient unfailing eternal words in the Bible.

It was this inexplainable love for God and His words that are settled in heaven forever, that, king David said, enabled and empowered him to persevere in his difficult challenges. See it yourself.

Unless thy law [ instruction, commandment and decree ] had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. – Psalms 119:92

See this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:92 If your instructions hadn’t sustained me with joy, I would have died in my misery.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:92 Unless Your law had been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.

See the same scripture amplified.

Unless thy Law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction Only a real love of God’s commandments can sustain men under severe affliction.

The scriptures affirmed over and over about king David’s delight in the word of God. See some of them.

Psalms 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Psalms 119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
Psalms 119:35 Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.
Psalms 119:47 And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.
Psalms 119:70 Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.
Psalms 119:77 Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

Dearly beloved brethren, your own love and allegiance shall also be proved, by the light afflictions, God is going to permit or has already permitted in your life.

The good Lord shall help you like, He did for king David and believers in Bible days in Jesus mighty name.

Your love for Him and His unfailing words shall empower you to persevere and be triumphant in Jesus mighty name.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Unless thy law [ instruction, commandment and decree ] had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction. – Psalms 119:92

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 22, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | They continue this day according to thine ordinances

They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, laws, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. - Psalms 119:91
They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, laws, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. - Psalms 119:91

They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, laws, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, laws, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

Dearly beloved brethren, this scripture in the book of Psalms, revealed something about humanity, the highest creation of God, that must not be fulfilled about you in particular.

It was a sad commentary about humanity, that everything God created, were obedient to the ordinances God gave them since creation, apart from humanity, that rebelled. See these scriptures.

Jeremiah 33:25 Thus saith the LORD; If my covenant be not with day and night, and if I have not appointed the ordinances of heaven and earth;
Jeremiah 31:35-36 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

Beloved, see the rebellious attitude of humanity in both old and new testaments.

Jeremiah 7:22-26 For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices: 7:23 But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you. 7:24 But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in the counsels and in the imagination of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward. 7:25 Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day I have even sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them: 7:26 Yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but hardened their neck: they did worse than their fathers.
Jeremiah 44:16-17 As for the word that thou hast spoken unto us in the name of the LORD, we will not hearken unto thee. 44:17 But we will certainly do whatsoever thing goeth forth out of our own mouth, to burn incense unto the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink offerings unto her, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our princes, in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem: for then had we plenty of victuals, and were well, and saw no evil.
Ezekiel 33:30-32 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD. 33:31 And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness. 33:32 And, lo, thou art unto them as a very lovely song of one that hath a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument: for they hear thy words, but they do them not.
Mark 7:6-8 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7:7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 7:8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Romans 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

Dearly beloved, this is the shameful and painful reality of vast majority of people inside and outside of the church of Christ.

Pause here. Are you obedient to God’s ordinances like every other creatures of God or fall into categories of humanity, rebelling against God? Your answer should be affirmative no. But if it is yes, please repent immediately, because of the eternal consequences of being rebellious.

See what the blessed Holy Spirit wrote through king David about the creations of God, obedient to His ordinances, since creation.

They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

See this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:91 ]Your regulations remain true to this day, for everything serves your plans.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:91 All [the whole universe] are Your servants; therefore they continue this day according to Your ordinances.

See this scripture amplified severally.

1, They have continued to this day, and shall still continue to the end of time, acting according to the ordinances which were at first given them; for all are thy servants; they do thy will, and set forth thy glory, and in both are thy servants. ” All the creatures are, in their places, and according to their capacities, serviceable to their Creator, and answer the ends of their creation; and shall man be the only rebel, the only revolter from his allegiance, and the only unprofitable burden of the earth.?

2. They continue this day according to thine ordinances. Heaven and earth continue to observe the ordinances given them by God at the first For all are thy servants; rather, all things, or all creatures.

3. They continue this day – This verse should be thus read: All are thy servants; therefore, they continue this day according to thy ordinances “All the celestial bodies are governed by thy power. Thou hast given an ordinance or appointment to each, and each fulfils thy will in the place thou hast assigned it.”

They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

Dearly beloved brethren, be like our Lord Jesus Christ, during His earthly ministry was submissive and rendered implicit obedience to His Father from the outset to the end.

Philippians 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 2:6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 2:7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 2:8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
Hebrews 5:7-8 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

Beloved, go and do likewise and be blessed here and hereafter in Jesus name.

They continue this day according to thine ordinances [ regulations, decrees and commandments ]: for all are thy servants. – Psalms 119:91

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 21, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth

Thy faithfulness is endures, continues and extends unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. - Psalms 119:90
Thy faithfulness is endures, continues and extends unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. - Psalms 119:90

Thy faithfulness is endures, continues and extends unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. – Psalms 119:90

Thy faithfulness is [ endures, continues and extends ] unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. – Psalms 119:90

Dearly beloved brethren, this is the crux of the matter. It does not matter, how complex, difficult and incredible your situation might look like, you can still count on the faithfulness of God’s Words and works .

1. Counting on God’s unfailing promises.

1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
Hebrews 10:23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
Hebrews 11:11 Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

2. God’s works of old that is abiding and unchanging.

Genesis 8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
Psalms 146:6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
Jeremiah 31:35-36 Thus saith the LORD, which giveth the sun for a light by day, and the ordinances of the moon and of the stars for a light by night, which divideth the sea when the waves thereof roar; The LORD of hosts is his name: 31:36 If those ordinances depart from before me, saith the LORD, then the seed of Israel also shall cease from being a nation before me for ever.
Thy faithfulness is [ endures, continues and extends ] unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. – Psalms 119:90

Beloved the unfailing promises of God’s eternal words and unchanging works since creation, validates the faithfulness of God.

Be rest assured that He can not fail in bringing you in particular, out of this challenging situation.

See the following scriptures yourself.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;
1 Corinthians 1:9 God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
Thy faithfulness is [ endures, continues and extends ] unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. – Psalms 119:90

Remember, He can not lie.

Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;

Hebrews 6:18 That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

All of these put together were the things that gave king David assurance and reassurance that God’s unfailing sufficiency would see him through in his incredible travails.

Praise God, he was not disappointed.

Psalms 40:1-3 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry. 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. 40:3 And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD.

No wonder, see his wonderful testimony about the faithfulness of God.

Thy faithfulness is [ endures, continues and extends ] unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. – Psalms 119:90

See this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:90 Your faithfulness extends to every generation, as enduring as the earth you created.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:90 Your faithfulness is from generation to generation; You have established the earth, and it stands fast.

See this scripture amplified.

Thy faithfulness is unto all generations. God “keepeth his promise forever”. If his “Word” generally is unchanging, so especially must be his promises. Thou hast established the earth, and it abideth. Even God’s physical laws have a character of perpetuity about them. “The constancy of God in his works is an argument for the faithfulness of God in his Word”

Beloved, you also can count on the unfailing faithfulness of God, concerning this present challenge in your life. . You shall not be disappointed in Jesus name.

Psalms 34:5 They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.

Knowing JESUS Daily Devotional | January 20, 2021 | LESSONS FROM PSALMS | For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven

For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. - Psalms 119:89
For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. - Psalms 119:89

For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89

For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89

Dearly beloved brethren, there is a common attribute associated with the Godhead or the triune God. The three of them are co-eternal.

Romans 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

1. God the Father is eternal.

Deu 33:27 The eternal God is thy refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms:and he shall thrust out the enemy from before thee;and shall say, Destroy them.
Isaiah 57:15 For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.
1Ti 1:17 Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

2. The Lord Jesus Christ is eternal.

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

3. The blessed Holy Spirit is eternal.

Hebrews 9:14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89

Beloved brethren, because the Godhead are eternal, their words also have eternal unchanging value.

See some of them.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Matthew 24:34-35 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. 24:35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
1 Peter 1:25 But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.
For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89

It is for this reason that the psalmist reminds Bible believing believers like you, to always remember that God’s words are eternal, unchanging, unfailing and shall exist forever. See it yourself.

For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89
Psalms 119:152 Concerning thy testimonies, I have known of old that thou hast founded them for ever.
Psalms 119:160 Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

See this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:89 Your eternal word, O lord, stands firm in heaven.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:89 Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven [stands firm as the heavens.

See it amplified.

Forever, O Lord, thy Word is settled in heaven. God’s Word, or Law, is eternal and unchanging—fixed and established forever in the heaven of heavens .

Here, 1. The psalmist acknowledges the unchangeableness of the word of God and of all his counsels: “For ever, O Lord! thy word is settled. Thou art for ever thyself (so some read it); thou art the same, and with thee there is no variableness, and this is a proof of it. Thy word, by which the heavens were made, is settled there in the abiding products of it;” or the settling of God’s word in heaven is opposed to the changes and revolutions that are here upon earth. All flesh is grass; but the word of the Lord endures for ever. It is settled in heaven, that is, in the secret counsel of God, which is hidden in himself and is far above out of our sight, and is immovable, as mountains of brass. And his revealed will is as firm as his secret will; as he will fulfil the thoughts of his heart, so no word of his shall fall to the ground; for it follows here, Thy faithfulness is unto all generations, that is, the promise is sure to every age of the church and it cannot be antiquated by lapse of time. The promises that look ever so far forward shall be performed in their season.

For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89

Beloved brethren, because of this eternal attribute associated with God’s unfailing unchanging words, you also must be obedient to the entirety of the revealed scriptures.

This is because it is going to determine your eternal well being. See these yourself.

Revelation 3:10-11 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

So as a matter of compulsion, ensure that every decision you are making on any issues are in consonance with unchanging eternal words of God.

Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Because you are a wise person, then live by the wise sayings of the Saviour for secured eternity.

Matthew 7:24-25 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
For ever [ eternal and everlasting ], O LORD, thy word is settled [ firmly fixed, stands firm and unchangeable ] in heaven. – Psalms 119:89

Quicken me [ Preserve my life according ] after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony [ obey the statutes ] of thy mouth. – Psalms 119:88

Dearly beloved brethren, Bible believing believers like you, should aspire to be obedient to God after the order of our Lord Jesus Christ. See what the scriptures says about Him.

Hebrews 5:7-8 Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared; 5:8 Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

But then to help you realize this laudable and novel aspiration, you must earnestly look up to God to enable you, by His all sufficient grace.

Quicken me [ Preserve my life according ] after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony [ obey the statutes ] of thy mouth. – Psalms 119:88

This is because, without His help you can virtually do nothing.

Phi 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Rom 9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.
John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Without the enablement of Christ, you can not attain desired spiritual growth.

No wonder king David aspiring to be obedient to God in all things, desired enabling grace of God to do so. See his prayers.

Quicken me [ Preserve my life according ] after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony [ obey the statutes ] of thy mouth. – Psalms 119:88
Psalms 119:25 My soul cleaveth unto the dust: quicken thou me according to thy word.
Psalms119:37 Turn away mine eyes from beholding vanity; and quicken thou me in thy way.
Psalms 119:40 Behold, I have longed after thy precepts: quicken me in thy righteousness.
Psalms 119:107 I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.
Psalms 119:149 Hear my voice according unto thy lovingkindness: O LORD, quicken me according to thy judgment.
Psalms 119:156 Great are thy tender mercies, O LORD: quicken me according to thy judgments.
Psalms119:159 Consider how I love thy precepts: quicken me, O LORD, according to thy lovingkindness.
Quicken me [ Preserve my life according ] after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony [ obey the statutes ] of thy mouth. – Psalms 119:88

See this scripture in other Bible version.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:88 – According to Your steadfast love give life to me; then I will keep the testimony of Your mouth [hearing, receiving, loving, and obeying it].

See this scripture amplified.

Psalms 119:88

Here is, 1. David in care to be found in the way of his duty. His constant desire and design are to keep the testimony of God’s mouth, to keep to it as his rule and to keep hold of it as his confidence and portion for ever. This we must keep, whatever we lose. 2. David at prayer for divine grace to assist him therein: “Quicken me after thy lovingkindness (make me alive and make me lively), so shall I keep thy testimonies, ” implying that otherwise he should not keep them. We cannot proceed, nor persevere, in the good way, unless God quicken us and put life into us; we are therefore here taught to depend upon the grace of God for strength to do every good work, and to depend upon it as grace, as purely the fruit of God’s favour. He had prayed before, Quicken me in thy righteousness (Psalms 119:40); but here, Quicken me after thy lovingkindness. The surest token of God’s good-will toward us is his good work in us.

Quicken me [ Preserve my life according ] after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony [ obey the statutes ] of thy mouth. – Psalms 119:88

Beloved, your own desire too, to be more Christlike shall be granted as you pray earnestly like king David did.

The good Lord shall help you to be conformed to the image of Christ and bring glory to His name in Jesus name.

Rom 8:29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

Quicken me [ Preserve my life according ] after thy loving kindness; so shall I keep the testimony [ obey the statutes ] of thy mouth. – Psalms 119:88

They had almost consumed [ destroyed and swiped ] me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts, teachings, commandments and statues. – Psalms 119:87

Dearly beloved brethren, there are times, when it seems that saints of God or Bible believing believers like you are overwhelmed with challenges. But then somehow, by the invincible might of God, they are brought out of them.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

It was like Joseph was going to be forgotten in the dungeon, but God brought him out of it.

It was like the furnace of fire would end the life of the three Hebrews, but they came out of it.

It was like an end had come to Daniel, but he came out of the den of lions.

It was like Hanan would destroyed Mordecai and the Jews, but he was hanged on the gallows he made.

It was like our Lord would not rise the third day, but He rose triumphantly. See this.

Psalms 124:1-8 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, now may Israel say; 124:2 If it had not been the LORD who was on our side, when men rose up against us: 124:3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us: 124:4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul: 124:5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. 124:6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. 124:7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. 124:8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
They had almost consumed [ destroyed and swiped ] me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts, teachings, commandments and statues. – Psalms 119:87

This overwhelming challenges severally happened to Paul apostle, but our Lord brought him out.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
2 Corinthians 7:5-6 For, when we were come into Macedonia, our flesh had no rest, but we were troubled on every side; without were fightings, within were fears. Nevertheless God, that comforteth those that are cast down, comforted us by the coming of Titus;
2 Timothy 4:16-17 At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. 4:17 Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
They had almost consumed [ destroyed and swiped ] me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts, teachings, commandments and statues. – Psalms 119:87

At this point in the life of king David, he was overwhelmed with persecutions and persecutors. He held unto God’s unfailing promises and he was delivered. See it yourself.

They had almost consumed [ destroyed and swiped ] me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts, teachings, commandments and statues. – Psalms 119:87
Psalms 119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Psalms119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.
Psalms 119:83 For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.

See this scripture in other Bible versions and it been amplified.

NLT
Psalms 119:87 They almost finished me off, but I refused to abandon your commandments.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:87 They had almost consumed me upon earth, but I forsook not Your precepts.

Amplified.

They had almost consumed me upon earth; or, “made an end of me,” “destroyed me.” But I forsook not thy precepts (. Persecution made the psalmist cling the more to God’s Law.

In deed the Lord said many are the afflictions of the saints of God, but they shall be delivered.

Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
They had almost consumed [ destroyed and swiped ] me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts, teachings, commandments and statues. – Psalms 119:87

It could be this is your present situation. Do exactly what other saints and king David did.

You also by the invincible might of God shall be delivered in Jesus name.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
2 Corinthians 1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

So hold unto the unfailing promises of God and your testimony is sure very soon in Jesus name.

All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. [ With falsehood they have pursued me, Help Thou me ] – Psalms 119:86

Dearly beloved, be acquainted with some passages in the Bible and live by them as reality of them unfold.

See some of them.

1. Jesus Christ our Lord said, Bible believing believers like you, shall suffer serious persecutions on this side of heaven.

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

2. The blessed Holy Spirit said, Bible believing believers like you must through much trouble enter the kingdom of heaven.

Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.

3. He went on to say, godliness shall bring you in particular a Bible believing believer, to unavoidable persecution.

2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. [ With falsehood they have pursued me, Help Thou me ] – Psalms 119:86

4. He added that you should not be surprised about these unavoidable persecution but rejoice.

1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

5. The blessed Holy Spirit said you should not be astonished for been hated by the worldlings, because of your righteous stance.

1Jo 3:13 Marvel not, my brethren, if the world hate you.

6. The glorified Lord of lords and our Master from glory said, you should endure these persecutions to the end and He would reward you.

Revelation 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. [ With falsehood they have pursued me, Help Thou me ] – Psalms 119:86

Perhaps this might be your present situation. But then, it is not peculiar to you alone. This was exactly the situation of king David at this time. He was severely persecuted for standing for righteousness. See it yourself.

All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. [ With falsehood they have pursued me, Help Thou me ] – Psalms 119:86
Psalms 119:69 The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.
Psalms 119:78 Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.

See this scripture in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:86 All your commands are trustworthy. Protect me from those who hunt me down without cause.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:86 All Your commandments are faithful and sure. [The godless] pursue and persecute me with falsehood; help me [Lord]!

See it been amplified.

All thy commandments are faithful; literally, are faithfulness. This is said in respect of the promises attached to them. They (ie my enemies) persecute me wrongfully; or, “with lies”—lyingly .Help thou me; ie help me against them, so that their “lies” may do me no harm.

But then, king David was imploring God to help him to persevere to the end.

This was exactly what our Lord Jesus Christ said to Bible believing believers of all ages and you in particular.

Mar 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

The good Lord helped king David. He will surely help you in particular, too in Jesus name.

All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me. [ With falsehood they have pursued me, Help Thou me ] – Psalms 119:86

The proud [ These arrogant people who hates your laws, decrees and instructions ] have digged pits for me. – Psalms 119:85

Dearly beloved brethren, this is the singular Crux of the matter.

Christ our Master was hated and unjustly persecuted, because, He lived by the entire truth and propagated the whole truth.

Jn 15:18 — Jn 15:25 If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you. Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept my saying, they will keep yours also. But all these things will they do unto you for my name’s sake, because they know not him that sent me. If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloke for their sin. He that hateth me hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father. But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.

In the same token, all Bible believing believers of all ages and you in particular, shall be persecuted, for living by the truth of the scriptures and propagating them

Matthew 5:10-11 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.
2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
Psalms 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
The proud [ These arrogant people who hates your laws, decrees and instructions ] have digged pits for me. – Psalms 119:85

Joseph, the three Hebrews, Daniel, Amos, our Lord, Bible days believers were severely persecuted for living for the truth and propagating the truth of God’s word.

This was the plight and dilemma of king David. He was been severely persecuted for living by the truth and propagating it. See it yourself.

The proud [ These arrogant people who hates your laws, decrees and instructions ] have digged pits for me. – Psalms 119:85

See this same passage in other Bible versions.

NLT
Psalms 119:85 These arrogant people who hate your instructions have dug deep pits to trap me.

AMP BIBLE
Psalm 119:85 The godless and arrogant have dug pitfalls for me, men who do not conform to Your law.

See it been amplified.

David’s state was herein a type and figure of the state both of Christ and Christians that he was grievously persecuted as there are many of his psalms, so there are many of the verses of this psalm, which complain of this, as those here. Here observe

But then, God delivered him from the pit and caused those who dug them to fall into them. See it yourself.

Psalms 7:15 He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.
Psalms 9:15 The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
Ecc 10:8 He that diggeth a pit shall fall into it; and whoso breaketh an hedge, a serpent shall bite him.
The proud [ These arrogant people who hates your laws, decrees and instructions ] have digged pits for me. – Psalms 119:85

Beloved it is absolutely necessary for you in particular to live by the truth and defend it. However, there is an unavoidable painful price for doing so.

John 17:14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world
Philippians 1:17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel.

However, a wonderful worthwhile prize await you eternally, for living for the whole truth and defend it, if possible with your blood.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth. 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? – Psalms 119:84

Dearly beloved brethren, Bible believing believers and you in particular are grateful to God, for given us a glorious and gracious Redeemer. He taught us the right way of the Lord and did exactly what He taught us.

Acts 1:1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Our Master and Lord taught us what Bible believing believers should be doing with their persecutors and He Himself did same. See it yourself.

Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
1Pe 2:21 — 1Pe 2:23 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? – Psalms 119:84

See what He taught us.

Mat 5:43 — Mat 5:48 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so? Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

The blessed Holy Spirit toyed the path of our Redeemer , complementing His teachings on what Bible believing believers like you should be doing with your persecutors. See some of them.

Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
Rom 12:17 — Rom 12:21 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.
1 Thessalonians 5:15 See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
1 Peter 3:9 Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? – Psalms 119:84

Beloved Bible believing believers like you must not follow the examples of old testament saints. They usually sought vengeance from God on their persecutors. This was the stance of king David at this point. See it yourself.

Psalm 119:84 How many are the days of Your servant [which he must endure]? When will You judge those who pursue and persecute me? [Rev. 6:10.]

Here, I. David prays against the instruments of his troubles, that God would make haste to execute judgment on those that persecuted him. He prays not for power to avenge himself (he bore no malice to any), but that God would take to himself the vengeance that belonged to him, and would repay (Romans 12:19), as the God that sits in the throne judging right. There is a day coming, and a great and terrible day it will be, when God will execute judgment on all the proud persecutors of his people, tribulation to those that troubled them; Enoch foretold it (Jude 1:14) whose prophecy perhaps David here had an eye to; and that day we are to look for and pray for the hastening of. Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly. 2. He pleads the long continuance of his trouble: “How many are the days of thy servant? The days of my life are but few ” (so some); “therefore let them not all be miserable, and therefore make haste to appear for me against my enemies, before I go hence and shall be seen no more. ” Or rather, “The days of my affliction are many; thou seest, Lord, how many they be; when wilt thou return in mercy to me? Sometimes, for the elect’s sake, the days of trouble are shortened. O let the days of my trouble be shortened; I am thy servant; and therefore, as the eyes of a servant are to the hand of his master, so are mine to thee, until thou have mercy on me.”

How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me? – Psalms 119:84

Beloved, you can not and you must not pray this kind of prayer, but must as a matter of compulsion follow the gracious example of our Master and Lord.

Receive grace to do so in Jesus name.

2 Corinthians 9:8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
