if the salt have lost his savour
Ye are [ called to ] the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing – Matthew 5:13
Beloved, do your desire to interpret the scriptures correctly. Then understand this. It is only the Bible that can interpret itself. What do you know about the salt of the earth? They are believers that are peaceable after the other of the Prince of peace.
Whenever a believer stopped being peaceable, that believer has lost his or her savour. How do we know this. Very simple. See the scriptures yourself.
Matthew 5:13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Mark 9:50. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
No wonder the Bible refers to God the Father severally, as God of peace. See them.
Romans 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Romans 16:20. And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
2 Corinthians 13:11. Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Philippians 4:9. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
Hebrews 13:20. Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Do you really wants to walk with God, like Enoch and saints of old ? Then you must agree with His nature. You must be peaceable like Him. Only the peaceable like Abraham, Isaac, Joseph, Jesus who will never strive with others, can walk with Him. See them.
1. Abraham who will never strive with Lot.
Genesis 13:8. And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.
2. Or Isaac, who will never strive with those taken over the wells they were digging, until God made room for them and called it, Rehoboth.
Genesis 26:20-22. And the herdmen of Gerar did strive with Isaac’s herdmen, saying, The water is ours: and he called the name of the well Esek; because they strove with him. And they digged another well, and strove for that also: and he called the name of it Sitnah. And he removed from thence, and digged another well; and for that they strove not: and he called the name of it Rehoboth; and he said, For now the Lord hath made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.
3. Or Joseph, see it.,
Genesis 50:15-21. And when Joseph’s brethren saw that their father was dead, they said, Joseph will peradventure hate us, and will certainly requite us all the evil which we did unto him. And they sent a messenger unto Joseph, saying, Thy father did command before he died, saying, So shall ye say unto Joseph, Forgive, I pray thee now, the trespass of thy brethren, and their sin; for they did unto thee evil: and now, we pray thee, forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of thy father. And Joseph wept when they spake unto him. And his brethren also went and fell down before his face; and they said, Behold, we be thy servants. And Joseph said unto them, Fear not: for am I in the place of God? But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive. Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spake kindly unto them.
4. Or Jesus our Lord .
1 Peter 2:21-23. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
Beloved, pause here and be very sincere with yourself. As a saint or believer, do you still have your savour? Are you peaceable? Are you striving with your spouse, parents, neighbours, colleagues, fellow brethren in the church? etc . See what the scriptures says?
Psalms 34:14: Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
Psalms 133:1: Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
Proverbs 16:7: When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
Romans 12:18. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Colossians 3:15. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Hebrews 12:14. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Beloved, do you know what you receive from God of peace, when you are peaceable with others? See them.
Philippians 4:7. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
2 John 1:3. Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
You must resolve determinedly henceforth, not to loose your savour till Christ comes, whatever otters are doing to you. The grace of God shall enable you to be peaceable with them, in Jesus name.
Dearly beloved, no doubt you profess to be a believer. But then, do you really have resemblance with Jesus Christ, the Prince of peace?
Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
See how His undeniable peaceable virtues speak loud for Him.
Isaiah 50:5-6. The Lord God hath opened mine ear, and I was not rebellious, neither turned away back. I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting.
Isaiah 53:7. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
Matthew 12:16-21. And charged them that they should not make him known: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Behold my servant, whom I have chosen; my beloved, in whom my soul is well pleased: I will put my spirit upon him, and he shall shew judgment to the Gentiles. He shall not strive, nor cry; neither shall any man hear his voice in the streets. A bruised reed shall he not break, and smoking flax shall he not quench, till he send forth judgment unto victory. And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
Matthew 26:63: But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
Matthew 27:12-14. And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing . Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly.
Mark 14:61: But he held his peace, and answered nothing. Again the high priest asked him, and said unto him, Art thou the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?
Mark 15:5: But Jesus yet answered nothing; so that Pilate marvelled.
Luke 23:9: Then he questioned with him in many words; but he answered him nothing.
John 19:9: And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.
1 Peter 2:23: Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:
All of these are examples for all believers of all ages, especially you to follow.
1 Peter 2:21. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
This was why He taught that His followers are salt in the earth and they must not loose their savour. See it,
Matthew 5:13. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
Luke 14:34-35. ¶Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill; but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
Mark 9:50. Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another.
See how the blessed Holy Spirit corroborated what Jesus said.
Romans 12:18. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 14:17. For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
Romans 14:19: Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
2 Corinthians 13:11: Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
Galatians 5:22: But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Ephesians 4:3: Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
2 Timothy 2:22: Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
James 3:17 -18. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
1 Peter 3:11: Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
Ephesians 4:29: Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
Colossians 4:6: Let your speech be alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
Galatians 6:16. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
The believers that shall be part of the millennium shall be those that are peaceable like, the Prince of peace. This should be your nature till Christ comes. Remember you must be conformed to His image, if you shall be part of the dawning rapture. God’s grace shall avail for you in Jesus name.
Romans 8:29. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
JESUS CHRIST, THE PRINCE OF PEACE SHALL REIGN DURING THE MILLENNIUM WITH PEACEABLE BELIEVERS. YOU MUST BE THERE.
Friend, there are three distinctive virtues that must characterise the lives of rapturable saints:
1. Entire sanctification.
2. Perfection.
3. Holiness. Interestingly only the peaceable believers can have these virtues. See them yourself.
1. Entire sanctification
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24. And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
2. Perfection
Hebrews 13:20-21. Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
3. Holiness.
Hebrews 12:14. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:to be.
These virtues are accessible as you embrace the knowledge and teachings of Christ.
2 Peter 1:2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
Matthew 5:13.
Friend, the prophecy of our Lord being the Prince of peace shall be fulfilled at three different seasons. See them.
Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
1 : For unto us a child is born. This was Bethlehem. It has been fulfilled.
2 : unto us a son is given. This was Calvary. It has been fulfilled.
3 : and the government shall be upon his shoulder. This is millennium. It will happen seven years after the rapture has taken place. When the great tribulations would have ended and the tribulations saints shall join ed the raptured saints who have enjoyed the marriage supper of the Lamb. God shall help you and me to be part of the raptured saints and not part of great tribulations saints in Jesus name.
Revelation 20:4-6. And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
For you to know that, during the one thousand years millennium reign, it is Christ the, Prince of peace that is reigning with His saints and old testaments saints. See how the scriptures described the peace that would subsist, during the one thousand years. See if yourself. You must do everything to be there. You shall be there in Jesus name.
Isaiah 11:6 -10. The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them. And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea. And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.
Friend, I pray for you with all my heart that you shall be there. In the name of Jesus, you shall be there. Then, the onus is on you not to loose your savour. Because, you are the salt of the earth. May the good Lord help you in Jesus name.
Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another
