By faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people... - Hebrews 11:24-26

By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward – Hebrews 11:24-26

Dearly beloved brethren, this is the singular distinguishing factor, between a Bible believing believer and a nominal Christian.

The personal choice to identify today with Christ’s reproaches than the momentary pleasure of sin.

By faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God – Hebrews 11:24-26

See it amplified.

Hebrews 11:24-26
[24]It was by faith that Moses, when he grew up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter.
[25]He chose to share the oppression of God’s people instead of enjoying the fleeting pleasures of sin.
[26]He thought it was better to suffer for the sake of Christ than to own the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to his great reward.

Hebrews 11:24-26
[24][Aroused] by faith Moses, when he had grown to maturity and become great, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter, [
[25]Because he preferred to share the oppression [suffer the hardships] and bear the shame of the people of God rather than to have the fleeting enjoyment of a sinful life.
[26]He considered the contempt and abuse and shame [borne for] the Christ (the Messiah Who was to come) to be greater wealth than all the treasures of Egypt, for he looked forward and away to the reward (recompense).

Moses was bred up at the Egyptian court, and he was considered to be the son of Pharaoh’s daughter;

Because of this ,he might have succeeded the throne of Egypt: but, finding that God had visited his people, and given them a promise of spiritual and eternal blessings, he
chose rather to take the lot of his people,

Hie made God his portion for ever, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin, which, however gratifying to the human senses, could only be , temporary.

See the account in Exodus.

Exodus 2:10 And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water.

By faith Moses refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God – Hebrews 11:24-26

But then Moses, when he was grown up, slew the Egyptian, considering the oppression of his own brethren

Exodus 2:11 And it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out unto his brethren, and looked on their burdens: and he spied an Egyptian smiting an Hebrew, one of his brethren. 2:12 And he looked this way and that way, and when he saw that there was no man, he slew the Egyptian, and hid him in the sand. 2:15 Now when Pharaoh heard this thing, he sought to slay Moses. But Moses fled from the face of Pharaoh, and dwelt in the land of Midian: and he sat down by a well

See the same amount in the new testament.

Acts 7:21 And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son. 7:22 And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds. 7:23 And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel. 7:24 And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian: 7:25 For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not.

Moses opted to identify with the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt.

Hebrews 11:24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 11:25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 11:26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.

Dearly beloved brethren, this is the singular reason why heaven bound Bible believing believers, choose temporary afflictions to attain eternal blessings than the pleasure of sin which is momentary and temporal.

2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Hebrews 10:32 But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions; 10:33 Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used. 10:34 For ye had compassion of me in my bonds, and took joyfully the spoiling of your goods, knowing in yourselves that ye have in heaven a better and an enduring substance.

Psalms 84:10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. 5:12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Romans 8:35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 8:36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1 Peter 4:12 Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 4:14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified.

Pause and examine yourself, beloved brethren. Where do you belong? A nominal Christian or an heaven bound Bible believing believer ?

Hebrews 10:35 Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

Beloved brethren, be like Moses. Take the same biblical stance. You shall never regret you make the choice today.
