Dearly beloved brethren, the good Lord shall bless you and you shall be a blessed person here and hereafter in Jesus name.

But then one singular virtue that can guarantee and sustain your blessedness here and hereafter is for you in particular to live a consistent lifestyle which is not defiled.

Blessed are the undefiled in the way [ those who ways are blameless ], who walk in the law [ the instructions ] of the LORD. – Psalms 119:1

Daniel 1:8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

The Bible reveals clearly to every serious minded believers what can defile them and they are under compasdion to ensure they are not defiled, because of the fearsome consequences here and hereafter.

See things that can defile you that you must determindly purge yourself from.

1. Things from within the heart.

Mar 7:20 — Mar 7:23 And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

2. Defiled bed.

Heb 13:4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

3. Defiled tongue.

Jam 3: 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.

4. Bitterness and unforgiving spirit.

Hebrews 12:15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;

5. Beastly uncleanliness.

Lev 18:22 — Lev 18:23 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion.

6. Worldly defilement.

James 1:27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Beloved any of these defilements are punishable here and hereafter.

1. Damnation eternally.

Revelation 21:27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

2. Physical death and other punishment as ordained by the Lord on this side of heaven.

Lev 18:24 — Lev 18:29 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants. Ye shall therefore keep my statutes and my judgments, and shall not commit any of these abominations; neither any of your own nation, nor any stranger that sojourneth among you: (For all these abominations have the men of the land done, which were before you, and the land is defiled;) That the land spue not you out also, when ye defile it, as it spued out the nations that were before you. For whosoever shall commit any of these abominations, even the souls that commit them shall be cut off from among their people.

Brethren for believers and you in particular to avoid this, you are exhorted to follow the exemplary lifestyle of Jesus Christ, our high priest.

Heb 7:26 For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;

The grace of God shall avail for you in particular in Jesus name.

Tit 2:11 — Tit 2:14 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
