Giving to God and receiving great things.

Giving to God and receiving great things.

Luke  5:1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,  5:2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.  5:3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.  5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.  5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.  5:6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.  5:7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Peter, even though sad because of total failure himself and his team of fishermen had.

They went out fishing all night and caught nothing.

Yet at this time when he was sad because of the shameful and painful failure they had,  gave ship to Christ to use for preaching the gospel.

When our Lord finished preaching, He rewarded Peter and his team with success they have never experienced in their life time.

Many people in the church don’t know that, the way to receiving great things from God, is giving your best to Him willingly and joyfully.

Also it is by supporting the poor and the less privileged.

Doing these two things will open great doors of blessings for you here and hereafter.

Proverbs  3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase:  3:10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.

Proverbs  11:24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.  11:25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

Malachi  3:10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.  3:11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.  3:12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of host

2 Corinthians  9:6 But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.  9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Galatians  6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

When you give bountifully to the Lord and support the less privileged,  then on this side of heaven and in eternity, God will reward you and give bountifully to you too

Listen to what the Bible says about liberality to the Lord and the less privileged.

Proverbs  19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

Luke  6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

Hebrews  6:10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Hannah gave bountifully to the Lord and was rewarded greatly.

1 Samuel  2:20 And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The LORD give thee seed of this woman for the loan which is lent to the LORD. And they went unto their own home.  2:21 And the LORD visited Hannah, so that she conceived, and bare three sons and two daughters. And the child Samuel grew before the LORD.

Liberality to the less privileged, will have impact on your life here and hereafter.

Endeavor to be liberal to the less privileged.

Proverbs  21:13 Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard.

Galatians  6:9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  6:10 As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Matthew  25:31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:  25:32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats:  25:33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.  25:34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:  25:35 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:  25:36 Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me.  25:37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink?  25:38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?  25:39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee?  25:40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.  25:41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:  25:42 For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:  25:43 I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.  25:44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?  25:45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.  25:46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

Commit yourself to giving to the Lord to advance His kingdom in your assembly and also be given to doing good to all men.

The good Lord will help you to be wise unto salvation in Jesus name.

Let us pray.
