Risen from failure and setbacks

Matthew  28:6 He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.  28:7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

In the same way Jesus went through pain since Thursday night when He was arrested at the garden of Gethsemane and nailed to the cross, Friday morning.

Matthew  20:17 And Jesus going up to Jerusalem took the twelve disciples apart in the way, and said unto them,  20:18 Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be betrayed unto the chief priests and unto the scribes, and they shall condemn him to death,  20:19 And shall deliver him to the Gentiles to mock, and to scourge, and to crucify him: and the third day he shall rise again.

This painful situation happened as Jesus our Master and Lord, informed His disciples.

Matthew  26:47 And while he yet spake, lo, Judas, one of the twelve, came, and with him a great multitude with swords and staves, from the chief priests and elders of the people.  26:48 Now he that betrayed him gave them a sign, saying, Whomsoever I shall kiss, that same is he: hold him fast. 

 26:49 And forthwith he came to Jesus, and said, Hail, master; and kissed him.  26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.  

26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out his hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest’s, and smote off his ear. 

 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.  

26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?  26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?  

26:55 In that same hour said Jesus to the multitudes, Are ye come out as against a thief with swords and staves for to take me? I sat daily with you teaching in the temple, and ye laid no hold on me.  

26:56 But all this was done, that the scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled. 

Then all the disciples forsook him, and fled.  26:57 And they that had laid hold on Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.

Our Lord was arrested and bounded in the garden of Gethsemane and brought to Caiaphas.

Matthew  26:62 And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what is it which these witness against thee?  26:63 But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.  

26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.  

26:65 Then the high priest rent his clothes, saying, He hath spoken blasphemy; what further need have we of witnesses? behold, now ye have heard his blasphemy.  26:66 What think ye? They answered and said, He is guilty of death.  

26:67 Then did they spit in his face, and buffeted him; and others smote him with the palms of their hands,  26:68 Saying, Prophesy unto us, thou Christ, Who is he that smote thee?

The Sanhedrin began to afflict our Lord, since Thursday night. They took Him to Pilate on Friday morning for Him to be sentenced and face crucifixion.

Matthew  27:1 When the morning was come, all the chief priests and elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death:  27:2 And when they had bound him, they led him away, and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor.  

After the questioning and scourging, Pilate handed Jesus over to the soldiers for crucifixion.

27:26 Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered him to be crucified.  

Our Master was mercilessly scourged.

27:27 Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band of soldiers.  27:28 And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe.  27:29 And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!  

27:30 And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head.  27:31 And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify him.

He was brought to Golgotha for crucifixion.

Matthew  27:33 And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull,  27:34 They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink.  27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.

After Christ has been crucified, there was darkness all over the land for three hours.

Jesus Christ our Lord patiently went through the pains.

27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.  27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?  27:50 Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

At the ninth hour in the afternoon, our Lord gave up the ghost.

After the crucifixion on Friday noon, God raised Him up on
Sunday morning on the third day, after His painful shameful gruesome excruciating crucifixion on Friday afternoon. 

Our Lord rose up triumphantly on Sunday morning.

In the same way,  God will bring an end to everything that has been bringing failure and setbacks to your life, this day in Jesus name.

Luke  5:1 And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,  5:2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.  5:3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.  5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.  5:5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.  5:6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.  5:7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Peter’s failure came to an end, just like Jesus rose up, Sunday morning.

Your own failure and setbacks  too will come to an end as Jesus rose up in Jesus name.
