God’s guidance for His people.

by Bishop Peter Babalolain Devotional

God’s guidance for His people.

Psalms  48:14 For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.

One of the things God provides for His people of all ages, is divine guidance.

This becomes imperative because without it, they are blind.

Isaiah  42:16 And I will bring the blind by a way that they knew not; I will lead them in paths that they have not known: I will make darkness light before them, and crooked things straight. These things will I do unto them, and not forsake them.  42:19 Who is blind, but my servant? or deaf, as my messenger that I sent? who is blind as he that is perfect, and blind as the LORD’s servant?

Joshua in his lifetime made some costly mistakes.  The reason was because, he failed to seek guidance from God.

Joshua  9:14 And the men took of their victuals, and asked not counsel at the mouth of the LORD.

Prophet Samuel would have anointed Eliab as king in place of David

1 Samuel  16:6 And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD’s anointed is before him.  16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.  16:12 And he sent, and brought him in. Now he was ruddy, and withal of a beautiful countenance, and goodly to look to. And the LORD said, Arise, anoint him: for this is he.

Because of the tendency to walk into the trap of the enemies with ease, the Lord promised to be guiding His obedient children, at all times.

Psalms  32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.

Isaiah  48:17 Thus saith the LORD, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the LORD thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.  48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Psalms  23:3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.  23:4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

This guidance will profit His people immensely, when they listened to Him at all times.

Proverbs  1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

When they made decisive decisions to avoid evil plots of the enemies.

Proverbs  22:3 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.

Proverbs  27:12 A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself; but the simple pass on, and are punished.

God provides ceaseless guidance to the meek and the righteous.

Psalms  25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.

Proverbs  8:20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment:

Isaiah  58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.

God guides His people all though life, even unto glory.

Psalms  73:24 Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.

He is still doing same today through His holy Spirit.

John  16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

The Lord promised to guide you, if you will harken unto Him wholeheartedly.

Proverbs  1:33 But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Let us pray.
